Let's be BUddies. I am 66 years old. I want to lose aout 200 lbs. My surgerry date is Sept 16. My surgery is scheduled for 7:15am. I am having robotic. My sister is arriving from alaska today. She is going to spend the week with me. I have a couple of things I need to do - but I am generaly set. I lost 8 lbs on the presurgery diet which was not a liquid diet like many others.

I am about to go to a local meeting for bariatric patients. I did not know there was a "Big Book of Gastric Bypass." I will run by books-a-million on the way home from the meeting. Thanks for the info Jolisue!

Good luck to all having their surgery today!!! Prayers are with you!! Mine is in two days, can't wait!!!!!!

]Hi Snowblue! I'm day 4 post op and feeling pretty good. How are you feeling?

Hi Snowblue,

It seems I have no idea how to navigate this forum. I got an email saying you asked how I was, but I can't find where? Anyhow, wondering how you are doing as well?

My date is September 9th !!! Anyone from Lexington NC ?

I'm in Clover, SC and had my surgery September 23

I'm tomorrow too in Hickory, NC!!

So ready! First day of the rest of my life ❤️

I'm 8/23 in Clover, SC but work in Newton

Does anyone take depression medication? If so, since your surgery has your depression gotten worse?

I take xanex, not for depression but for stress and anxiety. My doctors are making me get off of it due to the pain meds I take for my back and its not good bc without it I'm just a crying blubbering mess. I'm 9 days post op and I have felt some depression but I think it will go away.

What's everyone's daily caloric intake? I seem to be averaging approximately 500 cal per day.

I still haven't been able to meet my protein goals yet, so I have no idea. I have been working to get set up on the FitnessPal app to track everything since it seems like the successful veterans are all doing that.
