I am starting process of gastric bypass and scared help

@@Algae I feel the same way...I know what a great tool this can be and that it works if you use it right I just want to take this six months to get to a point where I trust myself to use it right. Failure is a big fear, but I feel the resources at st. Vincent in the program I'm in are going to help me not fail! It's nice to here from someone who is in the same states I am...I wish you luck and congratulations in your decision and I'm sure you'll see my "stalker" posts all over here in the months to come! Haha

@@Ethomas15, I LOVE that you called this a tool. About 3 years ago I started going to Celebrate Recovery (a 12 step program) and started to really explore my relationship with food. Last year I added personal, one on one counseling to help me work through my food addiction. At some point we began to discuss WLS as a tool and I was pretty skeptical/ scared. I've really worked hard to get to the core of my issues and to make some changes. Now that I'm working toward having RNY surgery, I have conflicting feelings about AFTER surgery.

I know how hard the "process" can be, but I also know there is something so rewarding about seeing change, little by little, in a positive direction. You're going to do great! I can't wait to co-stalk you as we head out on this journey together!

I just had my bypass 2 days ago. It's not painless, I have been very sore. I haven't been hungry at all. I have felt thirsty and I just wish I could guzzle my Water down but I know I can't. Don't be scared. So far I am VERY happy that I have done this. I am also down 4 lbs since my surgery on Tuesday. Feel free to ask me any questions. Good luck!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
