O I have seen videos and read that there are smells. Bo is more common, horrendous bad breath, scalp stink, and general funk. Tell me true if this is a legit fear. Also, tips? Carry baby wipes or shower 3x per day or what? I have to go back to work (close quarters cubicle setting) pretty quickly.

Nope don't think that's true. Maybe some bad breath due to the low carb diet, same as with Atkins diet, doesn't last for ever, brush / floss more, drink more Water, chew sugar free mints, no big deal.

I've noticed a few changes (I think it stinks when I floss, and honestly, my, ahem, private area has a different, though not unpleasant, odor), but nothing so major that anyone seems to have noticed anyway. My partner has been away on business since I was two weeks post-op though, and frankly he's the one who would be most likely to say anything if the changes are less subtle than I think.

I am 9 months post op and I have not experienced any unusual smells. I exercise everyday and even after a vigorous workout there are no overly unpleasant odors.

This doesn't really have to do with smell but on my phone I couldn't figure out how to start a different thread :0

I have not been about to drink Water, of any kind!, since about a month out! Water makes me seriously nauseous!!! I can do unsweet tea and unsweetened flavored sports drinks but I CANNOT tolerate water!! I drank water at first all the time but now? No way! Talking about it is making me feel sick! This is ridiculous! I've always been a lover of water!!!

Have you tried using the MIO drops to flavor your Water? It has really helped me drink 8-10 glasses of water a day.

My husband says I smell different. He said it's not a bad smell, just that my skin smells a little different. The best he describe it, he said I smelled more carnivorous, so I'm guessing it's ketosis? I don't know. But he said it's not unpleasant, and it's not any stronger than I usually smell.

TMI but it fits the conversation ;0)

My breathe and body odors are the same but my BM's are horrid! Very foul. I don't know if its due to the increase in stomach acid or Protein, but they are definitely stinky. Also, I'm more prone to eatery stools than anything else. Yep, TMI....;0)

I totally concur! As someone who mostly stays away from animal Protein, I always thought I got off pretty lucky in that department, but since surgery there has been a major change! I'm still vegetarian (almost fully vegan), but things are... different.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
