  1. Thanks, HaddocksEyes. :0)I got sick of all my hair falling out so I cut it off into a pixie! Lol. I am much happier. I don't know why, but I'm not finding near as much hair in the drain now.
  2. I am 4 months out and my hair is falling out like mad. It is noticeably thinner. However, I am not getting all my protein in nor am I taking Biotin. I blame myself.
  3. I'm almost 2 months post op. When I first started back on solids, food tastes great. Now? Eh. Nothing "sounds" good and not much tastes good ether. Fresh fruit and veg are still my favorites but every thing else -meat, cheese, fish, cottage cheese, etc,- turns my stomach. It's just the oddest thing.
  4. It's the strangest thing....food doesn't really taste good any more and the thought of some meats make me gag. Like ground beef; I was a fan before sleeve but now it turns my stomach. Honestly, almost all food does. I don't actually get sick but the thought of eating is pretty unappealing. I'm rarely hungry. Anyone else experience this feeling? Maybe it's stomach acid?
  5.    missbrown30 reacted to a post in a topic: Why can't I lose? :'0(
  6. How many calories? What do you take in daily?
  7. SherB.... Not really sure. Sometimes 300, sometimes more. Never more than 500. My goal this week is to list everything in fitness pal. I've been lazy in that regard. Maybe I'm getting too little. I tried to get more in but then the scale jumped up 3 lbs and didn't come off for a week. Yes, I freaked out. My education tells me one thing regarding nutrition and how the body works......but experience with my body tells a different story. Again, frustrating.
  8. Krissy, you've lost 44 lbs since June?!?!?!? I hate you. LOL You're doing famously!! Keep it up, girl!!!! :0D What are you doing specifically? Maybe I'm doing something wrong.....
  9. Scrapbasket, how do you combat it? My clinical rotation currently is critical care pts in a step down unit, plus the ED and OR. There's no way I can get a break and as a student nurse, they frown on us bringing in water bottles. I'm on the floor from 6:30 to noon before I get to sit and take in fluid but I can't get enough in me in the allotted lunch break. By 1500, I literally want to push a pt over on their bed, so I can lay down and steal their IV! I don't think that's allowed though.......;@)
  10. Shoud I just stay on liquid protein shakes? Like a medifast program? I still have all of the product.....
  11. Palomarules, Thanks for responding. Really.:0) I'm trying not to get wrapped up in the numbers, I truly am....just need to try harder, I guess. Congratulations on meeting your goal. It's a great feeling and accomplishment!
  12. Everyday. I keep track of my first morning weigh in but then jump on and off that thing all day long. It's an obsession....and not a healthy one.
  13. I add about an oz to an oz and a half of unsweetened real cranberry juice or apple juice to my 48 oz cup of ice water. It's just enough to flavor my water without the added calories. Plus, cranberry juice is really good for your kidneys and urinary system. Though, I doubt I drinking enough to make a difference! Lol Don't be afraid to add a little flavor to your water. Experiment and find what works for you. I wouldn't recommend drinking just the sugar free Gatorade and vitamin waters....your body needs real water. You'll find your magic combination :0)
  14. TMI but it fits the conversation ;0) My breathe and body odors are the same but my BM's are horrid! Very foul. I don't know if its due to the increase in stomach acid or protein, but they are definitely stinky. Also, I'm more prone to eatery stools than anything else. Yep, TMI....;0)
  15. I am also experiencing really bad orthostatic hypotension- I feel very dizzy and sometimes almost faint when I stand up. I naturally have low BP, typically 100/60, and I feel like this surgery made my symptoms worse simply bc I can't eat enough at any one time and nursing does not lend itself to regular meals/snacks. I'm usually pretty optimistic! I swear! Lol This sleeve is throwing me in a big bad funk. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Any one else have a job/profession that makes snacking really hard? What do you do to maintain your energy?
