Recommended Posts

Hope everyone is doing well!

I am feeling great with no issues at all.

I'm down 55 lbs from 200 to 145.

Very close to getting in that "normal" BMI range

My BMI went from 35.5 to 25.3

Losses: Chest -7" Waist -8" Hips 9"

I eat the pre-op diet of 1 shake and 2 salads w Protein per day.

My tummy loves me. If I go for anything too heavy my tummy hates me.

Cheers to everyone, let's hear your 6 month victory story!!

Best thing I experienced about reaching 6 months is settling down and getting used to the ups and downs of this process.

I now don't get frustrated with long lulls in weight loss or get worried over occasional cravings or desires. I don't obsess over exact calorie numbers every day. I don't feel guilty if I don't make the gym always on schedule. And guess what........I am still losing.

So Relax everyone. A few ups and downs won't derail you or cause you to fail. Allow yourself a little leeway or a treat here and there. Just remember to stay on track and concentrate on the overall effort of making permanent long term changes.

The best thing about the six months isn't the amount of weight I have lost.......It's the amount of time that has allowed me to adjust. ;)

6 months out - down 90 lbs from HW and 65 since DOS. Weight loss is slowing a bit now, but still losing and would like to go another 30 lbs at least. It's getting harder now - I feel like I can eat more volume and more variety and I find I have to fight ongoing carb cravings / addictions.

My activity level has increased a lot and I feel like I have my active life back. Just got back from an awesome trip to Turks and Caicos where I snorkled and rode horses on the beach. Things I couldn't have done 6 months ago.

It's a process and I hope for all of to continue to be successful.

Hello Everyone

Congrads to everyone on their six months post surgery

I'm hit my 6 months on August 8th and so far I lost 50 lbs from 250 to 200. I still need to find the time to exercise and I have lost my way, eating things that I know I should not eat or drink ( i.e. sodas and potatoe chips). But I have made a re-committment for myself, I am challenging myself to walk to a goal of 10,000 steps a day and I have a made a challenge chart for the next 30 days. So far I have keep my promise with my challenge chart and I'm avering 7,000 steps a day. My goal is to get to 140-to 145 lbs. I keep some proteni mix here at work along with some 1% milk to help me from snacking during the day.

Good morning all!

Been super busy-so haven't posted in a while. I've been cleaning out my late parents home to sell and it's been taking up time after work and life.

I was sleeved on Feb.12,2014. I was 245lbs day of the surgery. I am now at 147lbs! Yipee! I am wearing a size 8 in clothes and very happy-I got my first pair of Levis in YEARS! :) I am just 5lbs away from my goal weight of where the Dr's want me to be. So happy with my choice of doing this surgery. It's meant a whole new phase of life. I went on vacation this summer and I walked during my 13 days a total of 63 miles. It felt so good walking the beach every morning, I could get used to that!

Happy Sunday to all of you!

Nell

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
