Well, I guess it's like I graduated from kindergarten to first grade. Lol

Yesterday, I went for my 2 week post-op follow-up. I FINALLY got those darn staples out (man, those were annoying!!)

I also was moved to purée! Yay!

I gotta tell ya, that first "bite" (sip, really) of Soup reminded me of an Eddie Murphy skit:

"If you're starving and somebody throw you a cracker, you gonna be like this: That's the best cracker I ever ate in my life! That ain't no regular cracker, was it? What was that, a Saltine? That was delicious. That wasn't no Saltine. That was... That was a Ritz. That wasn't a Ritz? God, that was the best cracker I ever ate in my life."

I could only get down about 1/4 cup puréed split pea soup before I felt STUFFED! It was the weirdest experience ever.

This morning I made myself one scrambled egg with some cream cheese mixed in, and it was almost TOO MUCH food! I was just thrilled I tolerated both the egg and the cheese.

After 4 weeks of liquid, and the surgery itself, this was the hardest 4 weeks of my life.

I am just absolutely ecstatic to have finally graduated! :)

Congrats and welcome to stage two!! :-)

But aw man I'm jealous!! My nut said no Soup, not even pea soup because it's high in sugar or something and Soups go right through you, and no cream cheese, and no this and no that. I can only eat weekdays on our list. Sigh. It's so hard to do when I hear others can eat yummy stuff like you are. I don't get it.

we are at the same stage, today I had a boiled egg for the first time but I threw up

for lunch I had a tiny bit of sardine but could not tolerate the smell

for dinner I was able to have chicken lunch meat although it feels like it is stuck in my throat

overall today was painful, maybe my body is not ready for soft foods

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
