How long after insurance approval were you scheduled?

Recommended Posts

No worries, Jenn. I call and leave a message every two days. If she hasnt called me back by next Monday, I'm just going to make a random appointment with my surgeon and complain directly to him.

Good job ready to get the show on. Glad to hear you're getting in touch with them regularly. I hope you find out soon your date of surgery. I'm sure it's frustrating

About thirty days but only because the educational workshops required for my program were full. They wouldn't schedule me till I completed them.

The whole process went like this:

It was 3 1/2 months from Information Seminar to surgery.

It took me approx two months to complete all the required visits for a medical clearance - 2 w/surgeon, 2w/psychiatrist, 1 pulmonary, 2 w/cardiologist, labs, and EKG.

BCBSRI approval only took 5-6 days once submitted.

Then it took three weeks to complete 3 educational workshops and a 4 hr nurse education class.

A week after that I had my surgery. :-)

Thanks all! My surgeon doesn't require a pre-op diet, just full liquids the day before surgery. So that won't add to the time any, just however booked up his schedule is. I am ready now!!!

Wow, I am shocked to hear of these fast turn-arounds from insurance companies. I have CHP/STATE Insurance and I'm required to do a 12 month weightloss management program with my Bariatric doctor and lose 10% of my starting body weight which was 34 lbs for me; I am in month 9 and have lost 38 lbs. I sure hope that my insurance company moves as fast as you alls! Encouraging!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
