I feel like I am dying! =/

Recommended Posts

I have been in pain since I had the surgery last Wednesday, that has not stopped. Today I have had diarrhea for most of the day. Is it dumping? I have no idea. I have had a Protein Drink today, some Water, and some sf pudding.< /p>

I am afraid to drink anything to take my seizure medication that it will just go right through me.

I do not know what to do with myself in all honesty...

Are you using milk or anything with lactose? It's super common to become lactose intolerant after the surgery...I did. Switched to lactose free milk and it stopped. Took a day to get out of my system. I also was using carnation sugar free instant Breakfast and it had lactose.

My pain stopped after I stopped eating anything with lactose!

If it gets too bad call Dr. Halmi. They have a on call physician. I had the diarrhea too. They said you can you Imodium if too bad and I think Kaopectate. I pray you get better soon!

My Dr does not allow pudding or dairy at this point. I would stop eating that and just stick with the Protein Drinks and Water for now

Thanks everyone for your advice. They never told me not to have dairy at all. They even said I could have the sf pudding.I will stay away from it I guess.

I did have creamed Soup the other day made with 1% milk and I did fine.

My doctor also didn't limit dairy but I use almond milk to make my shakes because drinking just straight milk will make my stomach bloat up like I'm pregnant and hurt like crazy. This was a problem before surgery, too. I can still eat yogurt and puddings, etc. even if they are real milk.

You said you are in pain -- what kind of pain? Just pain from the surgery? Food's not sitting right? Pain when you swallow?

Diarrhea is not too uncommon either -- especially when you're on a liquid diet. Unfortunately I had the opposite. I think it's about a 50/50 shot which one you'll get. But, I would go ahead and take your meds even if you feel they will pass right through. You don't want to be skipping the important ones.

Hope you feel better soon.

My incisions are and have been hurting pretty bad, and even places where there are no incisions. It feels like my insides are ripping apart.

I had a lot of the gas left over from surgery and it still is not all gone.

I have also eaten yogurt and did not have a problem with the dairy...... I guess one of these days I will get to feeling half better.

My follow up with the surgeon is tomorrow...

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
