Ok kiddies. How many of you go through this? Last night I could not resist some of my mom's home made lasagna. I wasn't hungry, but I wanted to savor some flavor. I'm 3 weeks postop, and figured what the hell. Ok. A very small piece of lasagna, finely chewed, felt like a boulder. I wasn't in horrid pain, but there obviously wasn't enough room. It was like eating Thanksgiving dinner. Everyone's thanksgiving dinner.

Btdt. It was a buttered homemade roll.

I felt like I ate the sofa.

LOL, yes! I call my sleeve "Shock Collar"! Good news is eventually the dog learns to live within the boundaries. So have I.

The sleeve will definitely let you know what it doesn't like. Another thing I've learned is: when feeling full, stop! Even one more bite makes me feel very uncomfortable.

i'm 3 wks too (almost 4) and guessing it was the Pasta that did it. i KNOW the feeling.

i told my hubs that in the future, when we want to eat the things that we used to love i would modify them to still have all the ingredients but less of the carb. example- enchilladas- going to put all the 'innards' in the baking dish first and top with just a couple whole tortillas then cheese, and when i serve, do it with a spoon. more like a casserole. doing the same with my lasagna, going to just dump the meat, sauce, cheeses, etc into the baking dish, top with one thin layer of the Pasta and parm/sauce mix. i have a feeling this will be how i have to eat things from now on.

i have heard bad stories from colleagues and friends post sleeve about 'plugging'. eating a soft carb like bread, rolls, pasta, etc and it gets stuck and forms a 'plug' in the sleeve. nothing you can do but wait it out. my friend had one last 14 hours and went to the ER and the bariatric doc told her the only option other than waiting was to go down her throat with an endoscope and pull it all out. yuck!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
