BCBS OF NC

Hi. I just checked the BCBSNC MEDICAL POLICY UPDATES for JULY 15, 2014. This is what it said.... Requirement that patient be an active

participant in non-surgical weight reduction program for at least 6 months prior to surgery removed. I am sooo excited about this. I have met my deductibles and was going to be pushing it to get my surgery in before December this year.

Morning ... Dr. Paul Enochs did my surgery. He was wonderful! Recovery is slow but we figured out that I have a bladder and kidney infection and that is where the fevers are coming from. I am giving up looking at the scale until my post op appointment on aug 5th. Please feel free to ask any questions :) I will be honest and not sugar coat anything!!!

Thanks for you honesty take it slow get well soon ; )

I am post op 4 days... We submitted all paper work on July 2 and I was approved that Monday. My doctors office now has 600 people who were in the 6 month process wanting surgery asap. I wonder how long people will have to wait for surgery with this influx of everyone . I was happy to do the six months . I learned a lot. This isn't something that should be rushed . Make sure you are ready ! Good luck to all!

O...M...G......I'm preop with Dr. Enochs and that makes my stomach churn that they have 600 ppl that will now be trying to have surgeries!!

My last preop appts are August 11th and 12th then will be sumit to insurance. I want to keep Enochs.

Guess what ; ) approved... surgery date is approved for 14 or 15 of August im so excited !!!!

Congrats!! Hopefully I'll be RIGHT behind you! Best of luck to you, my friend!!

Spoke with my case manager today and she said BCBS is currently averaging a 3-7 day approval period and that my surgeon is only scheduling 1-2 weeks out right now, so no massive wait period (yet). My last appts are August 11th and 12th then will be submitted to insurance!!

Congrats!!!!

I received a letter from the hospital today with an estimate of my hospital cost. Does anyone know if you have to pay that money up front or do they let you make payment arrangements?
