I an scheduled for September 9th ! I'm excited and scared. I have wanted to do this for a long time now. I hope everyone has a safe and successful surgery !

I'm Curious... Are you saying they have removed the 6 month non-surgical weight production policy?? If so, that sucks like a big dog. i've wasted the last 6 months and 120 in copays. uggghhhhhh..... YES

Hi. I just checked the BCBSNC MEDICAL POLICY UPDATES for JULY 15, 2014. This is what it said.... Requirement that patient be an active participant in non-surgical weight reduction program for at least 6 months prior to surgery removed. I am sooo excited about this. I have met my deductibles and was going to be pushing it to get my surgery in before December this year.

I have heard this as well at my doctor's office. I called bcbsnc and the lady I spoke with said she had not heard nothing about it . I am soooo hoping they change it because i will be pushing it to get it done by December. My 6 months is up in November and I will have all my deductibles met by then and all my appointments. Keeping my fingers crossed !!!

Hi I am new to this site. I am in Lexington,NC. I am with BCBS and I am having to do the 6 mth diet/visit with my M.D. I am hoping to get my surgery before the end of the year because I should have my deductible met. I have met with my md twice already and already have all my appointments set up. Anyone heard oh BCBS stopping this 6 mth diet crap ?? Thanks
