Food thinking...All in my head....

Recommended Posts

I am only 5 days out and I'm not hungry at all but I'm thinking long term. I wanted any "months out" people to tell me of any if their favorite food they can no longer eat because if the sleeve. I know my absolute favorite fiord to eat is Crab Nachos. I have read some post and i see people say they don't enjoy the taste of certain items. Can someone please share their experience. I know the sleeve is a tool and I must make lifestyle changes I'm just thinking ahead! Thanks in advance.

Almost 2 years out and I cannot eat roast beef, pork, chicken breast, tuna, fried eggs and oatmeal hates me.

I have had allergies before to certain food but now the list has gotten longer.

I don't care though because I have some new favorites and they are great!

I can eat a scrambled egg though..go figure....I eat a lot more fish and cheese now and nuts.....

I have noticed I don't crave sweet stuff anymore. What I do like is salty foods such as crackers & chips. Go figure.

I'm only 3 weeks out so I'm not the person you're really looking for, but I'm wondering if instead of thinking of foods we can't have anynore we should look at those foods we really like (like your Crab Nachos) and try to find ways to reproduce them but in a healthier way. Find ways to change them up so that they can be healthier for us.

Still in soft foods . I can eat tuna but if I eat to much of it I feel nausea , and it's about 1/2 a can . But I can eat cheese all day string cheese or light baby bell and stay hungry all day . I can eat cottage cheese about 3 table spoon fills and I will be done stuffed for about 3 hrs . Most of the time I seem to be hungry ! Which scares me I was hoping the hunger pains went away . But it does if I eat refried Beans from Taco Bell but after I eat then 2-4 hrs I get hungry again :(

I struggle eating talapia, cod, and salmon. I can eat shrimp and tuna but not much of it. I also have a challenge with chicken even if it's baked or crocked potted. The grease from the chicken don't work and the texture/strands is hard for me. Chicken has to be a part of Soups or stews for me to be able to eat it. I can eat beef if it is ribs - no bbq AND if I eat it with ketchup, sauce, or mustard. Also, 1-2 eggs over medium works, but scrambled or poached eggs do not. Anything, absolutely anything that has fat or grease in, on, or around it, will make me sick.

I'm a little over a year out and I eat all of my favorite foods, just in moderation. Bad feelings usually only come if I go overboard, or if I drink too soon after eating.

Six months out and I don't like most breads and pizza now. And I LOVED that stuff before. Oh, and breaded food, blech!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
