Nearly 5mo out and almost No desire to eat

Recommended Posts

I get in one Protein Shake, coffee, Water, a couple of cheese sticks and whole wheat crackers daily. I probably eat a few bites of meat and veggies twice throughout the week. I want to know if this is a normal phase or if this is a bad habit forming. Has anyone else been through this??? Please share, Im concerned. I just have no desire for "real foods" for the past month or so.

It sounds like you are definitely not getting the nutrition you need for what you wrote.

I would be concerned very much so.

I would talk to your surgeon and nutritionist about this immediately.

Don't wait to do this either.

It's not normal.

Let us know what they say.

Not sure if you've also asked this in the Sleeve forums, as I typically stick to these Bypass forums, but from everything I've read that doesn't sound normal. I guess you could get differing responses over there.

I had my surgery the same day you did and definitely don't have any of those same feelings. If anything I've been battling a lot of extra head hunger lately.

@@CupofJojo I don't think it's a bad thing not to have a "desire" to eat. I do however worry about your health and nutrition if you are not taking in the proper amount of nutrients.

Is it that you don't eat because you have no want to eat or simply can't eat? Are you having a want to eat unhealthy foods vs nutritious food?

If you can eat without complication than I would try to plan the healthy meals and sit down and eat them at regular intervals even if you don't "want" to eat them do it to fuel your body and maybe make an appointment with the psychologist to see if it's a mind thing or something more physiological that is going on.

If you have complications with eating or eating certain foods, then I would advise you to call your doctor and ask to be seen for a follow up exam.

Being healthy means fueling your mind and body, and I'm sure you didn't have this surgery to be weak or ill.

We are here for support, let us know how things go.

Well when I wake I try to focus on getting in my Water, Protein Shake (liquids) and Vitamins. It's usually the middle of the day before I can eat something solid. Lately, I have not wanted to eat, nor feeling hungry. But I try to force in more water and at least eat some cheese and whole wheat crackers. I just don't wanna eat. :-P I was thinking my restriction tolerance is probably just more "tight“ then others?

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
