I have found that a banana a day keeps me regular. It took a long time to figure that one out. It was almost 9 months before I could eat a single bite of banana without Frankensleeve throwing a fit.

I was sleeved on 5/9. I've always suffered from Constipation but now its worst.

I never had a problem with constipation but I am vegetarian. I was put on a stool softener 2 x's a day for the first month. Thinking back to my pre-op days what made a difference was green leafy veg and plenty of Water. As mentioned try to get in a salad each day and drink plenty of Water. even then you may need to take a stool softener regularly.

I follow a primarily vegetarian diet and limit the milk products. I am four weeks out from RNY bypass and have not had any issues.

I have powdered Miralax (that I can use for more extreme cases of constipation), but prefer to use a generic Fiber powder similar to Benefiber, which is unflavored and mixes immediately in Water and doesn't gel up like Metamucil. It has no flavor and is like drinking Water. It cleaned me out the following day after I used it and didn't cramp me up like standard laxatives and stool softeners do. Always drink plenty of water.

It does! :) docusate liquid...might be called docusate drops.

That was awesome btw, I finally got it, unfortunately a little too late so required a mild enema. But was better than becoming impacted. The combo of the 2 made life a LOT easier today, thanks!

I sleeved on 11/14 and I too am struggling with Constipation? ??? I never had this trouble before so this is so foreign. I have lower back pain mostly and feel bloated some but when I go to the bathroom I don't always feel this incredible urge to go. Is that weird? It's been several days so I know it can't be normal. I have been trying Miralax and benifiber but haven't ever taken colace. My friend told me about Probiotics and there is a chewable one but she isn't a WLS patient so wasn't sure if I could take that this early on. Also, I am struggling getting my 64oz of Water in.???? I stay so thirsty but it takes so long to just drink one 8 oz cup. Does it get easier as time goes by?

I was using miralax, which works well, but didn't like the graininess . Now I eat three prunes every morning and that seems to help.

I have problems with Constipation before surgery, and I'm expecting them to be worse afterwards. I use benefiber in my morning coffee and if things start building up, I take 1/2 to a whole magnesium pill before bed-depending on how backed up I am. The magnesium works quick without cramps but the only drawback is it is a HUGE pill. Not sure if you can crush them, but perhaps they sell a powered form for post surgery patients. I'll investigate that and report back!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
