Any July Sleevers hit the dreaded 3rd week stall??? I did!! Ugh please tell me when it will end!!

Yeppers no change x3 days for me so im guessing we are in same boat. I try not to step on that da#$ scale but can't. Im trying to change up meal choices. ..kinda always the same & hope that will help. Good luck to you!!

I haven't lost for last 3 days and I have not been able to get in more than 300 calories on any day (mostly shakes that are 100 calories -'18 grams of Protein each.) Occasionally broth, but I tried some puréed food and it did not feel good. Is this the three week stall or am I doing wrong by not forcing more down. I'm so afraid of stretching my tummy out and not losing. Any helpful advice would be great. I'm doing ok with Water.

You should be eating more often. 300 calories is way to little. Eating at first is going to feel weird but after a few times it feels normal. Just eat slow and stop when you are full. Ironically the more you eat, the more you will lose. You should be adding Beans, eggs, possibly fish and chicken/tuna salad to your diet now or soon

This 3 week stall is really discouraging. What are others doing to get past it?

Keep in mind that even though the shake isn't changing, doesn't mean you aren't losing weight. Your body needs time to adjust. I suggest stop looking at the scale. Just weigh yourself once a week. If you do everything they say, the weight will come off. Plus the slower you lose it the more time your skin has to shrink. Seems like everyone is over stressing what the scale says, and stress isn't good for any one

I had my sleeve on 7/22. During the pre-op. diet and the first two weeks post-op. I lost 50 pounds. Now I have been at a plateau for almost a week. I am feeling a little bit down about this. I am using My FitnessPal.com to track calories, Protein, sugar, and carbohydrates. My calorie intake is typically around 650 per day. Protein is usually right around 60, sugar 25, carbs. 40. I am hoping that this is a very short term deal.

I've been worried about what to eat... I feel like I'm eating the wrong things! Sometimes I feel hungry after I eat and I'm worried. Any suggestions??? I had my surgery July 14th.

I had my surgery July 19th, 2014. My starting weight was 257 in January 30 I started a three mth medical supervised diet. On surgery day I was 240. Today starting my week 5 I am at 219. I mainly came looking for answers. My weight loss has slowed to about 1 pd per three to four days. Anyone out there in near the same time frame? I know we are all different just kinda wanted to know other peoples rates. I'm scared my physical activities are not enough.

Just finished week 4, and yep week 3 and week 4 weigh loss slowed to 1 pd every 3 to 4 days. that is why I am on here to see if that was normal or I just wasn't exercising hard enough. Thanks for posting.

Hi July sleevers, I was sleeved on July 1st. I am down 39lbs including my pre surgery loss. I have a lot of pain in my upper stomach and was wondering if anyone else had that problem. I am having a down day for the first time since surgery and wondering what the heck I did to myself. I am sure it won't last but just want to hid today.

I am wondering if you guys get full fter three sccops of Soup or can you finish a whole bowl? Im starting week two after postop!

I am not sure what a scoop is, my doc goes by portions of a cup. I just finished week 4 - I can usually finish 1/2 cup thin soup or skim milk, 1/4 cup of other things pureed and about 4 oz of yogurt. I've been pureeing tuna and chicken salad but can eat less than 1/4 cup The thicker it is the less I want, but nothing over 1/2 cup.

Disbelief!! Went out to a concert last night and did not have many clean clothes. Looked in my closet and thought, hmmm I am down almost 40 pounds since getting sleeved July 9, maybe something else will fit me? I was skeptical but my old jeans that I have not been able to fit in for years, fit perfectly!!! What a wonderful feeling!!! Feeling hopeful.

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.
