Week 6: May 27-31st Sleevers

We are beginning week 6! We count surgery week as week 1 so everyone should be completing their 5th week of their brand new tummy!

I've been traveling a lot the last few weeks and it is a HUGE eye opener to how little I can eat now. I survived a buffet by having a few bites of some different things, and paid for far too much money for meals that I couldn't take home leftovers and it looks like I didn't eat a thing off the plate. I think one of the hard things for me is that a plate of food comes and it looks so good and I want to devour it! I get slightly depressed I'll only get to enjoy a few bites. Yet after about 1/4 cup I'm stuffed and full and push the plate away and don't want another bite, which is AWESOME!! I'm assuming the odd depression right when the plate comes out will pass. At least when I'm at home I can box the left overs right away and then it might not seem so bad. I never thought much about the money being saved on food, but holy cow its gotta be a ton.

So I'm curious... how many are sticking to super low carb, vs those who are just watching calories/letting restriction do its job.

How many are working out a ton and how many are waiting?

Whats your favorite meal at this point?

And I'd like to continue habsi's question; what pills/multivitamins is everyone taking daily?

devint I loved your idea for putting up averages etc!! I've added mine and included those who weighed in last week. Hopefully we can get everyone to weigh in Monday or Tuesday next week and see our numbers skyrocket!

I've flown a bunch since surgery. I totally forgot about the staples. Sometimes they just run their hand down the middle of my back. Other times, nothing. Not a big deal.

They stitched mine no staples at all I was told . He said it was a double stitch

I'm down 50 pounds!! Whooop whooop and in onset land! I'm at 190.9 today I can't believe it!!!!! This is so awesome again I can't believe it sometimes I've had a bad month food wise in august but have been exercising almost daily so that's great once I'm home it's back so soup and protein shakes etc etc

May 27th sleever. What are you guys eating? I was doing really well now it seems like everything bothers me :(

I can eat anything I want, but stick to protein, veggies with a little fruit.

That's how I was but now suddenly everything hurts me. What does a typical day look like for you?

I eat sliced bell pepper with hummus as dip . Watermelon , I make tuna with avocado instead of mayo . I eat egg salad and will be putting avocado in the egg salads instead of mayo . I drink ISO pro green apple right after work outs . And muscle milk light also . I eat carrots with hummus dip and cucumber and mushrooms with hummus dip . That pretty much what I am eating

I do two protein shakes a day, split up into three "meals." I use soy milk and I mix in chia seeds. I make them ahead of time the night before, so the chia seeds inflate. They're super healthy (great omega3 to omega6 ratio!) and make the protein shakes more substantial so they keep me fuller longer.

Additionally, I'll usually eat something like a tofurky or PB2 sandwich (always on low-carb protein bread!). I cut it into halves or thirds and split it up throughout the day as well.

On gym days, I aim for about 1000 calories, and if I don't hit it by the time I'm home, I'll have a vegan protein bar or some nuts or fruit, depending on how my macro nutrients for the day look. On non-gym days, I try to stay under 800, so I don't always eat much else.

If I eat out, lentil soup is a go to. Not exactly low carb, but no starch and some protein. Or a nice tomato and mozzarella salad if it's available.

According to Cronometer, this week I've averaged 865 calories, 98.7g protein, 29.9g carbs and 40.4g of fat. I know my fat is high, but it's mostly plant based, healthy fat, so I don't worry. Plus my protein is high and my carbs are low. I'm losing well too!

Eating around 1000-1100 calories 70-90 grams protein. Have found if u don't get at least 1000 calories in its slower to lose at least for me. I do scrambled eggs with cheese in am, around mid morning Greek yogurt, lunch deli meat with cheese lettuce wrap or tuna. Protein bar or shake late afternoon and dinner chicken steak or other protein again. Very minimal carbs veggies and fruit. Eat protein first!! Remember chew chew chew! Have found if too carb rich it upsets my stomach.

Thanks everyone! You have given me some ideas of things I should try to eat. I was drinking coffee in the morning but did not do that this morning to see if maybe that is what could be upsetting my stomach.

Those of you who eat protein bars, what kind do you eat?

I eat Quest protein bars you can get them online or from GNC if you have one in your area. Protein snack bar fiber one and nature made makes one with 10 grams protein.

  • 2 weeks later...

Have been down 80 lbs, but have been in a stall the last couple of weeks. Even gained back 1 lbs. Tracking my meals and running about a legit 1200 cals aday. I cant complain about the weight I have lost , but want to get past this stall. Any suggestions. I eat 2 pieces of fruit and fruit flavored greek yogurt all of which have carbs. Should I cut these carbs out of just be patient and hope stall obsides?
