Hello all! I cannot believe I'm getting sleeved Monday! I've been on a pre-op diet for nearly 2 weeks, so even if I could have a "food funeral" this weekend, I wouldn't want to. So funny to me now. Does anyone have any last minute advice of what I should do pre-surgery.... or what I should buy for when I come home from surgery? I'm planning to buy my protein drinks/powders and liquid Tylenol. Anything else anyone has found to be helpful? Thanks!

I wore a loose fitting dress & was very comfortable going home. A pillow to put pressure on your tummy when getting in/out of the car & for the ride home is helpful! Gas-X strips...those are wonderful!

Best advice is take a positive attitude & mindset that you'll wake up ready to conquer your new life!

Oh and a name for your new tummy...mine is "Sally"

Best of luck...I am 1 week post op & the liquid diet is a mere memory!!

Make sure you're allowed to have painted nails during surgery. That was one of the rules on my list - remove all nail polish from fingers and toes. First time I've been in public with bare toenails in like 10 years!

yes that is a requirement they need to make sure u r getting enough oxygen. No pins no clips no deodorant no perfume no lotion no earrings no make up. It's surgery Usually these are basic requirements.

Hello August sleevers, well i received my date today (tentatively) i am scheduled for September 23, 2014. So i guess i am not in the August club. It was nice reading and learning from you all. I hope everything goes well with the already sleeved people and the upcoming sleevers, i have to join in with the September Sleevers. Be Well and Happy in your new skin!

I know I can do this but I pray The Lord hold me up cuz it's Friday and I am hungry. I c people eating I smell food but "sleevana" my sleeve to be is rumbling. Anyone else hungry.

I'm at the end of my third week on my liquid diet and I can honestly say that food doesn't have much power over me anymore. I can see people eating and smell the food and I'm fine. I think to myself, "That smells really good and I bet it tastes wonderful" but I have no urge or overwhelming desire to eat it. At first it was really bad for me and I had serious thoughts of stealing people's food right off their plates! But it gets better and I think me and "Karly" will do just fine after surgery.

I got sleeved Monday (August 4th). I have to admit the first few hours I was in excruciating pain. I'm talking "lawd help me, I can't take no mo" pain. I was positive that my doctor did something wrong. Well come to find out, I'm a baby. A big big baby. So that night I put on my big boy pants and did a lot of walking. By Tuesday morning, when I checked out, I was mostly pain free but still very nauseous. Everyday I've been feeling better and better. I was scheduled to be on vacation for 2 more weeks, but by Friday morning I felt good enough to go back to work. At my job I can work either inside behind a desk or outside doing a lot of walking. I felt I could've worked outside, but I'm going to take it easy for awhile.
