Yes and yes. At day 4 the surgical pain in my case subsided 50%. At week 3 the BM thing is still a mistery. I go for days without one. But at day 3 would would suggest to never trust a fart. You just dont know what might happen.

@@ssbills

i had the same issues with sleeping/sitting  (i think many/most of us do )

i always sleep on my side - can't sleep on my back

i placed a pillow or two in a "safe/careful" spot on my side, and got SOME sleep the first few nights at home

within a 2 week period it sllllllowly got better each night, til i was back to "NORMAL" -_-

gotta work thru the pain/discomfort

as with everything else in sleeveland, this issue will pass

so will your BM situation/problem!!!

sorry, couldn't resist!!! :D

bowel movements, Constipation, diarrhea are a common/frequent problem here on the board

as with everything else "we are all different" - i was very lucky, no problems

give it a week, hopefully things will "move along" ;)

since you didn't mention otherwise, hopefully other things are ok

wishing you continued speedy recovery :)

sweet dreams :)

Definitely try laying on your side with a pillow propping up your stomach. Put the pillow semi under your side so your stomach is resting there. You shouldn't have any pressure from doing it this way. I also take 2 colace every day to help with the Constipation issues. Best of luck to you! :)

The sleeping gets better I promise. I am 5 days post op and the first day at home trying to sleep was horrible. I take a fluffy comforter and tuck it gently near my stomach on the side that hurts the most. I also put the comforter between my legs like a body pillow. This worked really well for me. I think because the comforter is not as formed as a pillow it works better. Well for me it does. Best of luck!!

Three weeks out and sleeping back to normal. I slept on my side with a pillow and hated it. Hate sleeping on my back and side. Am so happy to be sleeping on my tummy again. So comfy. Was surprised how quickly pain changed turning over. Am grateful to be at this stage already :)

I think it was at six days out that I could comfortably sleep on my side. Until then, I kind of suffered sleeping on my back propped by four or five pillows. I couldn't put the pillows on either side of me without kicking my bf out of bed =P Needless to say, I didn't sleep well until I could resume side-sleeping. What a relief!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
