Still nauseous after 10 days plus no stamina

Recommended Posts

After 10 days I find myself very easily nauseous. I also have very little stamina. It's hard to get these walks in. I am SO thirsty that all I crave is Water. The last few days have been OK but still nauseous every day. Today is particularly bad because I also had a Migraine. UGH!

Anyone else having nausea and stamina issues this far out?

So sorry for you!

Adding more liquids will probably help the nausea. My doc wrote an Rx for anti-nausea med's to use as needed. You could ask your Dr. for that.

During my pregnancies I would place one mint leaf underneath my tongue and keep it there for a few minutes. The sickness would immediately abate and become so much more manageable. Mint is widely used as a natural anti-nausea treatment.

I'm having stamina issues so bad. I get really shaky in the shower (not dizzy or nauseous) but it takes everything out of me. Even getting dressed but yet walking no problem. Not sure what's going on....wish I had more energy!

Also, I've been having a lot of lower back pain and I don't know why. I'm passing gas, voiding ok, having bms. But it hurts, probably even more so than my incision. Anyone have any ideas?

I don't know what the back pain would be. Other than referred pain from your tummy or gas that you don't even know you have.

I stil have pain in the larger incision. They said that would hyrt the longest because it's where they pull the stomach through. (TMI truly) But I'm glad they told me.

Now I need to get walking more.

I am in the same boat as you. Feeling nauseous everyday for no reason know. I am 2 weeks out. Very tired, still a lot of pain on left side. Just want to feel better! Lord help us!

I am also still trying to get use to sipping and not drinking with food. That is a hard one. Normally I would get thirsty and just jug a whole glass down, not anymore, so I never feel my thirst is quenched. Always parched.

Are there any medication options for the nausea?

I had stamina issues until I was able to get some Protein down. How are you doing getting your Protein in?

I've asked my doc for more zofran. As for the Protein, I'm getting an average of about 80g. They want 90g but I still can handle only so much.

I just called Walgreens and they have zofran ready! Now my fingers crossed it helps since I just vomited again! Ugh!

Your Protein sounds great. I'm not getting that much in.

Good luck with the Zofran

Make sure that your not masking a UTI...bladder infection....it could be your kidneys....a call your medical team might be in order, just to rule it out.

Good luck,

Shel

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
