Who eats McDonalds post op?

Recommended Posts

You will be able to eat that post op after you heal. You probably won't be able to eat a whole hamburger and fries for quite a while post op. I've had pizza more times than I'd like to admit. I've also eaten a few fries. My cravings for food didn't go away but my sleeve keeps me quite full. I personally didn't have surgery to be on a diet for the rest of my life. I will eat what my family eats for the most part but I will eat way less. I eat very healthily most of the time but not all day every day. I haven't been to McDonald's post op yet..... I could prob eat half a hamburger now. It just doesn't sound good though. They make a great southwest chicken salad with grilled chicken. I haven't tried those yet either because salads scare me a bit still! I'm just afraid I won't be able to chew it enough. Maybe I'll try a salad tomorrow! I'm six weeks out this week.

I'm 3 weeks out, and my dr said I can eat salad, but I'm too afraid still. How did you feel 3 weeks out? I'm nauseaus ALL the time. I hate the thought of eating or drinking. I am going on vacation in 2 weeks, and I will have to find things at a restaurant to eat. I haven't been out to eat yet. When did you feel "good"?

I hear you!!

I am less that two weeks post op and on liquids and my brain is going crazy! I hate drinking my food, always have. I was never one for milkshakes, yogurt, smoothies, Soup, etc. to this has really been a challenge.

I've gotten to the point that the idea of drinking another Protein supplement makes me feel sick. I've basically been drinking fairlife for my protein.

My goal isn't to say no to McD in the future. My goal is for it to be a "sometimes" thing cause I would prefer something that is natural and makes me feel good.

I have said No to McD's and the like for more than 5 years. I tried 1 fry in all that time and remembered why I never ate that garbage.

There was a running joke in my family because my dog would not eat McD's or any other fast food. He would sniff and walk away. Think about guys. :)

I love to read my old posts. i'm now well over 3 years post op. I had great success but have had some regain recently. i'm still a work in progress.
yes, I still occasionally have mcdonald's, and my meal is a cheeseburger and fry. now here's the real scoop- I rip about 75% of the bun away, leaving just enough thin material to hold it all together, and I can eat about 8 fries with it. that's it. sometimes, though, this really hits the spot!!!

I just have a plain hamburger and take the top bun off

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
