6/12/14 - Sugery Buddies Needed

Recommended Posts

I was May 27Th. 45 married mom of a 16yr old. I am 5'10" and have been knocking on the door of 300lbs for a while now. 289-294 is where I have teetered for the last couple of years. Since my sleeve I am now at 267.5!! Lots of ups and Downs, tears galore, and lots of smell and taste aversions...

We have similar -stats though I'm a tad bit taller than you 5'10.5" and tad bit larger- my highest weight was 307. I lost 20 lbs preop and have lost another 10 since June 10 surgery. I'm 38 with 4 boys ages 9-16. Today I weighed in at 276.2, which I find miraculous!

I'm only 6 days post op but am coming along fine. Able to get my Water and Protein in after the first couple of days. Overall feel good and starting to have energy again.

Best of luck on your continued success.

Hello! I will have surgery on 6/11, I'm on day 3 I my liquid diet. I haven't lost as much weight as I thought. I get nervous and scared however; I can't wait for my end result.

I also had lap band/ hernia surgery on June 11..R u having any pain where they removed the hernia? And do u find it harder to get ur liquids Down? For me it's seems like all of my liquids are hard to go down. When I talk to my nurse she said its bc I have more restriction bc of the hernia removal..Please let me no how u r doing.

Hi cryss,

Let us know how endo goes.

You know, it was so simple! I was worried for NOTHING! ;) Pretty quick too, and I was out and on roving patrol. My throat was sore and my uvula the size of a vw bug afterward, but I am ready to rock and roll on the 9th. I start my pre-op diet a week from today.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
