My new beginning starts today!

Today is my surgery and I am super excited to begin my journey of Lap Band Living! I am all packed up and ready to go. Weighed in at 304 lbs. this morning after my 2 days of Clear liquids. Have all my necessities ready for me when I get home. I've got my timer next to my recliner for my walking every couple hours, and sipping on my liquids every 15 minutes. Let's DO this! :D

Thank you all! You're such a great support. I will keep you posted.

How are you, Weevie?! Hope you were able to get unswollen. I'm a nervous wreck... My surgery is first thing tomorrow morning! Ack

Oh Junebug36, I am hanging in there! They are slowly starting me on clear liquids again and I hope to go home today. Don't you worry about a thing! It was easy as pie. My situation was rare. My Dr's NP came to talk to me today and she explained better to me what happened. My surgeon uses only lap band and there are 2 sizes large and small. They will make the decision during surgery which to use. They tried the large and it was way too loose. They used the small and it was perfectly snug...until the post op swelling ensued. I am in good hands and I may not have to suffer through too much of the "bandster hell" everyone talks about! Dr said that when this happens he usually sees good results and his patients may require less fills. Bright side!

You take care of yourself and let us know how you're doing. You'll do great, my dear!

Oh, I'm so glad. We are on our way, plopez!

Oh man,. I'm doing great. I was pretty bad on Saturday but luckily my mom was here and she took care of me. I'm still hurting but it looks worse than it feels. I'm able to keep liquids down, I'm walking during every commercial break. This is the first I've really gotten on the computer since then so sorry it took me so long to get back to y'all. How are you guys doing?

Awe, thanks plopez! I am just working these nurses tails off....NOT!!! I'm probably one of the easiest patients they've had. I can take a walk all by myself with my IV stand and grab some ice chips, and they just refill meds I need. I'm easy, (don't let it get around) LOL!! JK

How are you and junebuggy2004 doing from your surgeries yesterday?

Hey Junebuggy2004, glad to hear you're on the mend! Very good on keeping up on the walking. I

had to tell the nurse that I needed to walk...not just to move but because I was going stir crazy (was just day 1 here). Since then, I just get up and go without telling anyone. These days are dragging here in the hospital. There is talk about going home either today or tomorrow...I am hoping for today. I've been keeping down the liquids well and feel really good, crossing my fingers.

Junebuggy and Ms Lopez; you ladies have been such a great support this last couple of weeks, so glad to have you both as my buddies! Take care of yourselves! ;)

I so hope you get discharged soon. I hate being in the hospital. It's the most boring place. I'm glad you're able to keep liquids down. Have either you or plopez had moments where your breath catches and it's hard to breathe for a second? That hurts. I'm glad we found each other. Y'all have been great resources to me.

Hey June and Weevie

I'm good but several things I'm dealing with

-cannot sleep flat or on side so I'm using a bunch of pillows (tightness and seems hard to breathe).

My friend told me that it's getting use to the port

-stomach growling like crazy so trying to get the fluids in

-my stomach is still swollen but nothing is coming out. Lol

All and all I'm doing good. I went back to work today and tomorrow half days so I'm on my way.

Any ideas on liquids? I've just been having Soup, Atkins, waster and Popsicles

Take care . I'm so glad I've made friends on here.

I took a picture of me in a bikini....OMG I'm so happy I got banded. I'll post before and after pics later lol

It's not pretty!!! Lol

Drink hot things to relieve the tightness. I've been having that trouble too. I also put an ice pack on my belly to help the swelling. I have a big pillow that I sleep on with arms on the sides. I sleep with a heating pad under my back because laying on my back hurts. I'm not gonna lie, I love the pain killer. My husband has an alarm and get it to me in the middle of the night since it's such a production for me to get out of bed. I have been have soups and muscle milk, I love muscle milk. I get the light kind, it has 100 calories and like 12-15 grams of programs. I've been drinking a LOT of tea, Tulsi, it's caffeine free. Mostly that. I tried pudding and that was a mistake. Way too heavy. My mom took before pictures for me. I tried to upload it but it turned sideways.

Glad to hear you are better, weevie! So happy to have found you all on here going through it at the same time :-). I am scheduled first thing in the morning...I will still be half asleep when they wheel me in! I'm ready to be done with the pre-op diet...not that the post op is any better...but I think I will have less hunger. I hope, anyway! A little less nervous, now. ;-)

Yes, you'll drop the nervousness and get excited! I'm on liquids, broth, decaf tea with stevia, Popsicles, jello, water. I also am trying to drink 4 oz of protein drink; isopure and they said I can have the protein shakes if I can tolerate them. I'm stuck on clears until Wednesday and then I will find out where to go from there when I go to my post op appt that day.

How's everyone doing???

Weeviegirl ..are you home?? Feeling better??

I'm starvin Marvin !! Only 1 days til I can have soft food. I'm not liking liquids at all....my tummy is growling bad.

I'm hurting...ugh. Feel like I can't take a deep breath. Pretty out of it since I left the hospital. Everything looks good, though...doc took a pic of the band inside me...kinda gross. I should totally post it for all to see... Haha. I was in recovery most of day. Feeling better by the hour, but the gas pains are pretty bad. Thank god for the meds! I went in soooo hungry...but haven't been hungry since the operation. Doc filled my 10cc band with 5 cc's! I am having no issues swallowing or drinking... Amazing. Hope it stays this way! We will see how I do on mushies in 10 days. How is everyone?
