I didn't really feel better until day 4 which is today for me. I finally began to pass gas last night and it changed everything for the better. I know it's a sensitive subject but it is important. I am walking better now. My stomach is still tender when I stand up. I have been climbing stairs since I came home because I was determined to sleep in my bed. I am drinking apple Isopure Protein which is really good and tastes like apple soda without the fizz. It has 40 grams of Protein in it. I am aslo drinking premier Protein Drink which has 30 grams in it. I am sipping Water constantly. My throat still hurts but its getting better. I use the spirometer blowy thing because i have mucus in my throat and don't want to get pnuemonia like they warned me about. I am so glad to be home.

Hi! My surgery is scheduled for June 18th...sleeve with hiatal hernia repair. I am a leader for a youth trip leaving June 23rd for 4 days. It's the beach...only a four hour drive. I'm not required to do anything with the group except make sure they are in the room at night. I need opinions from those who have had surgery. Will I feel like recovering in a hotel room on the beach, 5 days after surgery? Or do I bow out? If recovering at home, I will have my 4 kids (ages 4-14) to take care of while my husband works. Thanks for any input!!

Hi I had my surgery Monday on the 5th. Today is my fifth day. I'm still sore but not as bad . I can walk around my house some before it starts hurting. I also took children's Motrin along with my pain meds. It seem to help a lot . But ask you doctor if you can take it .

The bypass. I'm drinking my two shakes a day. I'm eating my soft foods like they said. Im exercising every dsy. But my weight is stalled. I'm losing inches but the scale is moving really slowly. I see people posting they lost 15 pounds in a week and so on. Is your weight just falling off?

It's killing me to. I'm going to stop weighing myself every day and try to do it once a week. I see my doctor next week. I'll see what he says.

On the positive my knees don't hurt anymore I have more energy and I can reach the radio buttons in my car because my stomach is smaller. My clothes are getting too big and that's great. I'm back at work and now I have to decide how much I want to share. I'm not ready to deal with the food police and naysayers in my office just yet.

I know how you feel . My clothes are lose ... not to much in the waist but my shirts are . I guess I will be putting on so more weight . Since I'm in the hospital tonight. They got me hooked up to the IV . Ugh ... I'm not in here for my weight loss . It's because of my MS . But I know how you feel about people wanting to tell you what to eat and they don't have a clue. I am glad you are doing good.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
