Banders #6

  • Popular Post

wow, i have been banded with plication for almost 2 yrs

and been on this forum for 2 yrs 4 months..where has the time gone?

i am happier today then i was when i started in Feb 2012...compared to

where i am now today..

the only (advice) i want to give is the following (take it or ignore it):

  • call your doctor if you are hurting or concerned or need (assistance w/questions can i or should i eat/do/drink)
  • i strongly advise anyone to do what THEIR doctor says, not mine or anyone elses..
  • use common sense (you cant gain true weight overnight and you wont lose true weight overnight)
  • eating more calories than you burn off will make you gain weight with or without any WLS
  • reality is clothes sizes getting smaller is a accurate sign of losing weight (dont focus totally on the metal monster)
  • you do not have to be at goal in six months...get there when you do...WLS has no expiration date

and last but not least

believe in yourself to give yourself credit..you know if you eat too much of the not so great food chioices out there

dont say the WLS did not stop you..you stop you.....YOU can control yourself..(you wont step out in front of a train would you??)

WLS will help you but it wont be the save all as that part is up to you and me

be well and all the best to you.

Lucky. You get another chance to believe in partnership❤️. I'm trying to absorb all the caring you got and deserve. Congrats!!

It is a bit hard only 5 months widowed, but I keep wanting to believe that things happen that make you happy down the road.

Great pictures. So happy. Is that a falcon???

Sure was!

Great pictures Lisa. You and Ken look adorable!

@@Julie norton I never thought after 20 years of marriage I would ever get married again. We divorced after all that time and that is definitely different then being widowed.

You must be going through so many emotions, I know those who divorce have loads of those as well, life can truly be a double edge sword to be handled with care that is for sure. I could share so many stories with you...someday if I don't lose my memory I will write them all down, but through it all the good the bad the ugly the painful the tragic and the senseless I have learned this to be true.

Love is an amazing, awe inspiring thing right here on earth. Finding it, sharing it and cherishing it, no matter it's form is truly a miracle.

Sending you some love {{xoxoxoxoxo}}

Lisa your post gives me hope!!! Congratulations to both of you!!!

Hi Julie. I was widowed 20 years ago. It takes time, but I promise you that you will be happy again one day. I don't necessarily mean with another relationship. That's a maybe or maybe not. But so soon after your loss, I know how hard it is right now to think that you'll be able to enjoy yourself and laugh again but you will....

Hello everyone. This group is amazing. I really enjoy reading all the ups and downs and goods and bads.

Happy 2nd anniversary. You and your husband are so romantic!! Very lucky. Next month is 44 years for me and I have the most unromantic husband ever. He is the kind that says, I was going to. For my birthday last week, I bought me a dozen roses.

Everyone enjoy Columbus Day.

Arlene

Did you ever have one of those days when your feeling "fat". I feel like I'm bloated today...retaining Water or what ever it is. I am going to "up" my water intake since it's been pretty low I have been drinking too much coffee the last few days and I have the feeling I"m a bit dehydrated.

I just think it's odd how your body will retain water..and you feel bloated even my fingers are feeling fat today (which means my rings actually "fit" today instead of spinning around) and all this happens because you don't have enough water in your body. So strange...I mean I get the headache part of it..but not the bloated part of it. On top of that the weather today is going to be near 80 and I just have to say WTF?

My body goes crazy when the weather swings from one extreme to the other. How about you all? Does that affect any of you?

@@lisacaron i so know what you mean.. especially on those days after where i have indulged in salt. my body goes crazy and bloats - even going to the gym can mess with how i feel. I never seem to be able to drink enough water.. i've developed a horrible coffee addiction lately as the warm drink helps wake up my band.. need to start focus on Water and other types of drinks.

I was feeling so good recently and yesterday my arthritis began another flare. I hate this autoimmune s@&t. Top that off with a bad night's sleep and a stiff and painful neck today and I'm not the most pleasant person right now. Food is clean. I have to get rid of the feeling of unfairness I have when my food is clean and therefore I expect all my health problems to go away permanently.

I feel you with the arthritis stuff. I am thinking that I may need to see a rheumatologist. My PCP keeps telling me to do that...but you know...I just don't wanna know! Sometimes I think that if I'm going to "live" every diagnosis watching out for this and that and the other things...where and when do you actually "live"?

Yeah my foot hurts and my neck is stiff too and my back is tight and I'm sure it's from all that "living it up" that I've done over the years (ha!). I don't want more medications that screw with my band or to be told that if you drop more weight or eat this and not that and do this and not that and all that smoke they like to blow around to justify the amount of money they charge my insurance company....(Stop. Now taking a breath......in.......out.....level set....and I'm back)

So I'm getting older and I just don't rebound the way I used to. These sudden weather shifts bite and are literally a pain in the ass! Which makes me that more resolved to say I need to move to Hawaii!!

I aspire to be a beach combing, whale spotting, sun catching, rainbow watching, sunset picture taking Lapband patient living in Hawaii.

Sigh.....I am feeling better already.

Mahalo!
