Yes! @@plopez, thanks for thinking of me. Started my 2 day liquids today and the count down is on. Not too bad, except I think I was drooling when I made my son some cinnamon toast for breakfast! LOL!!! I'll keep you updated. I will be here cheering you all on too! Ready, set, GO!

Thanks to everyone who has posted here. It is good to read what is ahead of me. Tuesday 6/4 I have my first seminar and schedule the doctors visit. From what I understand I qualify with my medicare so that will take care of the insurance bit. Do not know what else they will ask of mebefore they schedule the surgery. I am hoping for an early July date. My life is on hold as I need to lose 80-100 more lbs (lost 156 in past 4 yrs but have been stuck the last 12 months) before I can have knee replacements. Very frustrated today with everything! I am totally willing to do whatever I need to to get my knees fixed. I am just tired of waiting. Maybe I should start the liquid diet now even before the seminar??? But then I say what if they won't do the surgery in time before I have to travel in October for 3 months??? Wish I could just stop thinking about all of this for just a little while. Nothing else seems to distract me from this continual what if thinking... very frustrating. But thanks for writing your experiences, it helps.

I'm on my 10th day of Atkins which has been pretty easy but sucks when I'm at work because we have a stressful job. Everyday is tacos, pizza, donuts but I'm good. That will all be there later.

I WANT THIS!!!!

Meeting with Dr Tuesday, lapband Friday

Yayyyyy

We can do this!!! Believe in yourself .

plopez, When I get surrounded by stuff like that especially with kids and grandkids I always try and tell myself that those things belong to them and I can't take it without asking (which gives me time to think) or if I take it it is stealing it from them which is something I would never do. so problem solved and temptation gone. Other than that it is just poison! When offered I tell people I am allergic to it and then they don't go ..oh just a little won't hurt... but just a little always does as the scale creeps up.

Good luck on your journey...10 days is fantastic!

@Bull01... My only advice is to follow what your doctor says to do and what not do. I didn't have to diet until 8 days pre-op, but I decided to slowly drop my calories a full month before. As soon as I got the surgery date, I started my own diet. I use an app called myfitnesspal to help keep track of meals and calories, which really helped. There are a bunch of apps out there that can definitely assist you, if you go that route. I also wear a Jawbone Up24 fitness tracker, which you can set to buzz your wrist if you are inactive for too long.

Try not to cheat! I know how I am, and I knew I would, which was why I started knocking my calories down sooner than they wanted. I wasn't depriving myself of what I liked, but I would feel guilty logging it into the myfitnesspal app lol, so it definitely helped me in that respect. Once I hit the 8 days pre-op, I followed the 1000 calories per day that was suggested. 1000 isn't easy. I started drinking Protein shakes because I knew I would have to drink them post-op, so I wanted to start getting used to that. I only went over 1000 two days, and that's because I work mid nights and had to adjust my sleep schedule. I still didn't go over too much, but when you have no choice to be awake for 24+ hrs, you have to eat lol. I still managed to drop 11 lbs pre-op, so I was happy about my progress! It really is mental. If you can overcome just the thought of the huge lifestyle adjustment, you will be just fine!!!

I am 3 days post-op right now, and I'm doing good! Very minimal pain, if any. Lots of gas gurgling around in there, but that's it. Best of luck to you, and please keep us posted on your progress!!!!

????????????????☺️????

I was banded June 16th. I had to do the liquid Protein Shakes 2 wks b4. I'm still on liquids bc I had such a hard time with mushies on day 8 post op. I finally had to go to the doc yesterday bc I couldn't eat or drink anything for almost 4 days. They removed abt a cc of "primary fluid" & I'm feeling better today. I still haven't ate anything for the simple fact that I'm scared. That "stuck" feeling is AWFUL! I still can't imagine eating real food but I'm not hungry so that's good. I've lost a total of 31lbs since I started on June 2nd. I've got A LOT more to go & I keep freaking out thinking it's not gonna happen. I love reading all the success stories on here. It really keeps me motivated!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
