What follow up support did you get from your surgical team?

So far I had one nutrition appointment at 2 weeks, with other patients. And a PA visit where they basically signed my paperwork and looked at my incisions. They gave me handouts with most of the information. So far I'm underwhelmed. But maybe I'm expecting too much from the medical team, it's not like any other of my doctors take a whole person approach either. I can call the office with questions but follow up is spotty when I leave a message.

I'm scheduled for a six week check this week. Just wondering what other peoples experience has been with their team.

I had great pre and post op support. If I were you I would insist for answers on questions u have. Go to the doctors office ( don't make an appt ) ...justt show up and have them answer your questions. They got good money for this type of surgery.. They should be responsible for following up. Did you ask if they have support groups at the hospital where you had surgery. You could even contact other hospitals in your area ..they may have post op support groups, they may charge you a nonimal fee since you did not have surgery at their hospital.. Usually $25.00.

I did not ask about support groups but that's a good idea. I would think that's information they would give us if there was one. I am seeing a counselor but she's one I already had and doesn't specialize in wls. But maybe finding another group or person that does would be more what I'm looking for as far as follow up support.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
