Hi i was banded on May 5th. Eating regularly now. Im so nervous that all my 24 pounds that I lost will come right back on. My fill is scheduled for June 12. My portions although smaller than they used to be, I don't think their small enough. And 2 hours after I eat, I feel hungry again. Help!!! Any ideas of what to eat to help me get through this? How many calories should I be having? Thanks everyone

Don't worry. It took until my second fill (last week) until I felt any kind of restriction or suppressed appetite. And I got so frustrated when people would say "stay strong". That didn't seem possible. And sometimes it actually wasn't possible.

It will happen. Don't worry. You might even gain some pounds back.

Keep focused on long-term. This is a marathon not a sprint.

Anytime I crave something sweet, I go to sugar free popsicles. For some reason, they don't taste sugar free and are only 15 calories. 3 popsicles obviously won't fill you up but they will keep your mind busy and only add 45 calories. Good luck...I'm not there yet either but it does get better.

Wow! I am surprised that your doctor has said it is ok to eat regularly now. But anyway, until you get restriction, it is like a diet! Just watch what you eat

Well Technically I'm on mushies now. My Dr ok'd fish and anything soft as long as its chewed well.

LAst night after being hungry I decided to make Cream of Wheat. Bad mistake. It didn't fill me up at all. I just stopped myself after a bowl and a half. Im assuming its just that because its so soft and smooth ,my band doesn't stop it at all.

Well today I had much thicker food and after a small portion I did feel pretty full. Im not sure if its the band or just my stomach being raw. I am in a rush to lose 45 lbs and dont want to wait till I hit my sweet spot. any advice??? Should I stick with thicker food? Vegetables? Thanks

I was banded May 6th, I have lost 25 pounds since start of preop liquid diet. As ksc1965 stated.. it is a marathon and not a sprint. If you are "rushing to lose 45lbs and don't want to wait til you hit your sweet spot" you may be disappointed. Don't set yourself up for failure. Follow the rules and the weight loss will follow. Your doctor or nutritionist should have told you how many calories you should be having and what foods to eat and not eat. Good luck and keep us posted.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
