I am abso-FRICKING-lutely thrilled that I made this choice one year ago today.

My starting weight: 264, size 20

My 6th month weight: 175, size 12

My 1 year: 153, size 6/8

I still want to lose about 10-15 more but I am so happy, every single day. I've not regretted a single moment and I hope that everyone has the same success I've had. My BMI is still overweight, but my body fat is down to 26% which is excellent. I can do things I've not been able to do in 15-20 years. I can shop in any store I want and I am free from the chains of over eating.

This is me at start, 6 months and today! Today's dress is not the most flattering, but I didn't even think about the fact that the middle dress would be too big. I don't wear all black anymore (hee!hee!hee!), so I just grabbed the only black dress I had. Guess I need to go shopping, right?

You look amazing. Congrats on your success and sharing. I am 2 days post surgery, cant wait to share my successes.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
