Can someone please share with me how they are fitting the Protein in? I haven't eaten in 3 days and I feel awful. I'm holding in Water but I gag or vomit when I attempt to drink the shakes. The Protein Shakes are all too sweet and cause terrible cramps. Monday I should be starting my purée but I'm terrified that I won't be fitting in the protein my body needs. Monday makes two weeks since I've had the surgery.

There was a thread on here where some women were sharing their methods and recipes but I can't find it. Please any help you can give me will be greatly appreciated.

If you are mixing them yourself, maybe try half a scoop of Protein to start. If they are pre made maybe pour half into a glass and add skim milk. I personally like Premier Protein ! Good luck to you and stay hydrated !!

I am almost 3 months out and drink at least one shake a day. My doctor said it is pretty typical. I didn't like the shakes either at first but now I look forward to them. I am currently drinking click mocha flavor and health wise Cappuccino. I also like the Syntrax Nectar chocolate mousse, double stuffed cookie, and cappuccino flavor (I am a cofffee person if you cant tell.) Another favorite is Celebrate ENS vanilla cake batter.. that one is cool because it gives you lots of Vitamins too. If you can tell I have a sweet tooth. If you want a shake that isnt as sweet nectar has flavors like Roadside Lemonade and Twisted cherry that are popular.

Mixing with unsweetened almond milk can cut some of that sweetness. Just be sure you're not diluting the Protein too much that you are not getting in the required mg of Protein that you need daily. Good luck. Keep trying. There's lots of different kinds out there. You'll find something that works for you!

Sorry for the confusion. I was really just repeating what you said. For example, pouring just half of a Premier Protein shake in a glass and diluting it with half unsweetened almond milk. I was just trying to stress that the total liquid consumed didn't end up being like 7 oz of almond milk (or skim milk) and ONLY 1 oz of the quality Protein (like the Premier).

Hi - I am 6 weeks post op and was having a difficult time getting my Protein in. I have since found Isopure Protein Drinks which actually look like juice. My personal favorite is the green tea flavor because it doesn't have the after taste like the other flavors. It is much smoother going down. They are expensive though. Best of luck to you.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
