What fitness related EVENT are you training/preparing for?

Just curious what event fellow WLS patients may be planning on doing.

It could be a way to meet others at one of them. So what's on your upcoming "to do" list?

Event name?

Date?

Location?

Mo' Cowbell Marathon on October 4th in St. Charles, Mo.

This will be my first full marathon. I'm using the walkjogrun.net "Beginner Run Marathon Training Plan" and plan on somewhere around a 5 hour pace.

I'm at the end of the 3rd week of the 18 week plan. I've done 16 miles...once in the past, and this plan has you go up to 20 miles before the big day.

I was thinking of starting a "Fall 2015 Goal Run" thread. No matter what distance each person is doing for this falls goal "race", maybe it'd help us achieve it. We could each put our daily or weekly training runs on there. Any interest?

Yes! Just finished my marathon and Spartan race and heading in for plastics later this week so I am being cautious on my fall goals (couple of Ragnars and half marathons) but would totally join in! No training for me for 4-6 weeks at least though.

Rock n Roll half marathon in Las Vegas in November.

I'll be there too!

I am still rehabbing my knee after 2 surgeries but headed out on a 3 to 4 day backpack trip in August. Can't wait.

Awesome! It would be great if we could meet. I'm looking forward to it!

Bellin Women's Half Marathon

September 26th 2015

Planning on walking the distance, as I will be 3 months post op at that point. gives me a reason to get off my a@@ and out the door.

The course is lovely - a paved path along the shores of Green Bay, during the peak of fall colors. Hoping for cool and clear, but will do it if it is rainy/snowy/hellhot or whatever!

Just completing my training for the NYC Triathlon in 2 weeks, two week break and then starting back up for Silverman later in the year. No rest for the wicked.

I'm going to be in training for the 5k at the RnR in vegas. Perhaps we should set up a meet up? How can we get the word out across BAriatric PAl far and wide? Since they have events for all of us (5, 10, half, full) at all stages, would be good to get as many people as we can to it..

Any ideas??

Good uck on the plastics, I'll be asking you about those in about 8 months..

Ran the Los Angeles rock and roll half marathon today. I took 20 minutes off of my last 1/2 marathon time so it was a good day!
