I am sure this very question is posted somewhere on here but as I just joined I don't really want to go through every post to find my answer. I was sleeved on May 1st I am keeping liquids down for the most part but so far I think I have only drank one 32 oz bottle of Water and a little bit of gater aide. I have had 4 oz of sugar free pudding and a little Jello and half of a Atkins shake. I know I am not getting enough of anything starting to feel dzzy. any suggestion on how to get more Protein added in here. I do have unflavored Protein Powder and tried and I thought for sure I was going to throw up it was just horrible

http://www.bariatricpal.com/forum/456-protein-vitamins-and-supplements/ Lots of advice on different Protein powders and recipes.

Did you try mixing the unflavored into your pudding? I really didn't like doing that either but i found Protein powders that I love!

Your focus should be on liquids right now so you do not become dehydrated. Vitamin Water Zero or G2 will help with your electrolytes. sugar free ice pops count towards your liquids. My first week I actually used a clock and made myself sip every 5 minutes the first and second day home, every 3 minutes the fourth and fifth day home. Try warm Decaf tea or room temperature Water. Try sipping chicken broth from a mug. Try different brands of bottled water. Even today at 9 months post op there are some brands of bottled water I can't get down.

It will get better every day.

I was on liquids only for the 1st 2 weeks post op. I know I didn't have my Protein or liquids numbers where they should be but Dr was more concerned with not becoming dehydrated so I sucked on SF popsicles and drank chicken broth. All Drs and programs are different.

Must say I feel the Premier Protein - choc shakes saved me. I mixed them 1/2 and 1/2 with 1% milk and they tasted like choc milk shakes. They have lots of Protein. After week 2 I was able to tolerate them without mixing it with milk, so I always get my protein in by just having 2 a day and then my other high protein pureed foods put me right up to 80 grams or better :) Good luck. By the way, I could not stand the unjury protein stuff either.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
