I was just wondering what everyone eats for Breakfast? In order to get the needed Protein it seems like you got to ether eat eggs or a Protein Shake. I like eggs but I don't like to eat them everyday. The typical breakfast menu stuff like oatmeal, cold cereals and breads all have a bunch of carbs and not all that much protein. I was just kind looking for some other breakfast ideas.

good job on all the weight loss people keep up.

Good question! Some of the things I eat for breakfast are: eggs, cottage cheese with fruit, yogurt, Protein Bar, Protein Shake, bran Cereal with skim milk, whole grain toast with Peanut Butter, fresh fruit. I wish I liked oatmeal, but I just can't stomach it...but it is wonderful for breakfast, nutritionally. However, carbs are perfectly fine in the morning, as long as you keep them complex. Just don't eat carbs after lunch, or they have a good chance of changing straight to fat.

capt....good to hear from you!!!

How is the job hunting going? Right now Stef and Suzzie have me addicted to chocolate peanutbutter Protein Shakes. Prior to that, I ate Activa yoguart with trailmix, blueberries and raspberries. I would alternate this with trailmix, soymilk and fresh fruit.....this helps me to stay regular.

Prior to that I was addicted to Supreme Protein Bars (30g)---DEE-LISH--US!!!!

Thanks for the congrats! Im seriously needing to post some new pics but my dig camera has been on the blink since Cmas day! UGH We finally got it shipped off for repair but anyway that's why no new pics of me! Those are some good ideas for b-fast. I usually just do a protien shake cause I don't have to "think about" what to fix!! UGH I'm the worst w/ trying new stuff! I've eaten grilled tallapia w/ cajun seasoning till its about to come out my ears but there again it goes from the freezer to the table in under 10 min!! hehehe

Capt. Dan: I found a good breakfast the other day, if you like coconut and pineapple. Toast pineapple in pan with pam. Take ff vanilla yogurt, top with drained pineapple tidbits. Top with coconut. I haven't figured the Protein on that but it had an amazing taste...and I could only eat half it was filling.

Thank you guys for all the breakfast ideas. I like a lot of that stuff I am just trying not to eat many carbs. I did not even think about a the cottage cheese. I was eating CC most mornings but I can't get fat free on the boat so I only eat it at home.

The job hunt is going OK. I am still working offshore for the time being but I have an interview for a line-man program in July. I am kind of holding out for that. I do have a few offers back home in CA but only boat jobs. If I don't get the gig in July I will more than likely get a boat job back home.

I was thinking the other day. Where the heck did everyone go? Back in June and July there were 10X's as many people as there are today on this thread. I can't help but to check on here every few days. I think the help and support of LBT has really contributed to my weight loss.

I hear ya Danbo - when I'm not on here much my weight tends to stall. I was trying to break my addiction from being on here so much but then I quit losing weight too. Evil scales #*&^%*#

I am TRULY addicted...I look at it from my phone when I'm bored...If I wake up in the middle of the night, I wonder "have my friends posted anything?" hahahaha!!!!

STEF--I went to wal-mart and purchased the Peanut Butter you told me about---WOW--I made my shake with it and it was TERRIFIC...I don't know if it was really any better of if it was just a mental thing...

What do you know about taking fish oil? Someone told me that since I am starting to jog, I should take it for lubrication of my joints. Stef--let me know and what brand do you recommend

I am so addicted, too! I think there are a lot of us here who are addicted, so you have plenty of company! I'm glad you liked the peanut butter...mind thing or not...LOL.

Fish oil is a wonderful thing, but it won't help your joints that I am aware of. Fish oil reduces inflamation in the body and is recommended to reduce triglycerides (cholesterol), keep you heart healthy and is good to take if you have high blood pressure.

The person who told you about fish oil most likely just misspoke and meant to tell you about glucosamine chondroitin. As with everything else, there are good and not-so-good ones out there. I have a touch of arthritis in my left knee, so the one I take is called Flexamin. I felt it start to work in less than a week, which I thought was amazing.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
