I Know several people who had some type of weight lose surgery in the past 10 years. So many of them are gaining. Or trying diet fads. Makes me worry for the future. I want to maintain a lifestyle change.

Well 20% regain is expected by many programs.

Outside of that, I've found that most people regain larger amounts because they stop going to support meetings when they are years out - they really help keep you on track.

My nutritionist said that we should track our food for life. (I use My Fitness Pal) She says that tracking is essential to keeping the weight off long term. It does seem that it's easier to lose, than to maintain.

Stupid question, but can you regain the weight after VSG. I mean, most of your stomach is gone so there's only so much a person can eat. If losing weight is about Portion Control and you can't each so much, how is it possible to gain weight. A little weight yeah but regain most or half the weight lost? I'm scratching my head.

You can stretch your sleeve out. Also, if you consume HC/HF foods that slide through your narrow sleeve such as ice cream you will regain.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
