I have pain if I take too big of a swallow, but I know it from the hernia repair because its in the same spot where the pain was right after surgery and my doc explained I would feel that.

I also had a hernia repair, but they didn't mention any kind of discomfort after surgery. It makes sense though. Thanks!

I can only sip half a teaspoon at a time and I wait a few minutes before I have another.

Yeah the hernia repair takes a while to heal so yeah there will be some discomfort. My surgeon told me as soon as I woke up that any pain in or near the center of my chest is from the repair at that it wold probably be uncomfortable for a bit. So if my gulp is too big. It hurts for real.

Xojessny what do you get to eat in your 3rd stage. I was the 21st so after Tuesday, I get to try scrambled eggs and mush up stuff, tuna, ground turkey mushed up. I'm excited. Lol. It's crazy that I'm excited about a couple bites of mushed up ground turkey. Lol lol. I think once I get to that stage, I will get more motivated and kick it up to two miles. So tired of shakes lol.

I was told that some of the pain that I feel in my chest is because the opening from the oesophagus gets tightened a bit in the surgery. Apparently the pain eases. I too am over shakes. I am having Soups, juice and coconut Water.< /p>

Hi sleevers, I am on blended and puréed foods. I love it. Next Tuesday I began soft foods. Going for post op checkup tomorrow. I had a bad allergic reaction to the glue very itchy and red.

I had my first visit to my surgeon today, day 10. A total weight loss of 6 kg's since day of op. Everything is going well, still on fluids, walking my dog everyday, and best of all, still another week off. I didn't think I would be feeling like this last week. It's amazing how quickly the body can recover.

I am sick of fluids, and can't wait to get on to puréed doodle. Can't say that I am hungry, however, those pizza adds certainly make my mouth Water. I guess it's all part of the mental struggle and the 'head hunger' thing I keep reading about.

Getting a little tired of Protein shakes and thin liquids in general. Also been struggling to stay thoroughly hydrated.

Down 18 pounds since surgery (5/20) and down 36 pounds since the beginning of this month (5/1).

I will say something happened during surgery that's caused my right thigh to go completely numb and cold to the touch. A little concerned about that healing back correctly. Apparently a nerve is compressed between the L3 and L4 discs. This happened during surgery cause I didn't have this before.

Glad to hear everyone's been doing pretty well. Keep it up!

I am also tired of Protein drinks and shakes, and have 10 days to go before purée... Sigh! And I'm def starting to feel hunger.. Not reflux, not heartburn ...HUNGER... I am having no problems getting Protein in, but problems with other liquids... Just not enough time in a day!

Hope your leg goes back to how it's supposed to be! I'm sure that's nerve wracking

That was a good pun. 8/10

I understand the hunger for sure. I think I'm just use to it now and don't care.

Although I don't feel physically hungry I want food. I worked out last night that it is because I want to chew - I haven't chewed for 3 1/2 weeks and it will be 2 1/2 weeks before I can. Roll on my soft food week!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
