I swear I will never eat Jello again, lol! It just doesn't taste like it used to. I am surviving on chicken broth & SF Popsicles. I was going to eat a lite strawberry yogurt tonight because I just wanted something else. I changed my mind because I was afraid if the sugar content. It has 8 grms of sugar & wasn't sure if that would cause dumping. This is all so new I am learning as I go.

I had a Ritas SF Italian ice. I know they say ice pops but this made for a little normalcy.

After doing a lot of internet searching I found some yogurt with little sugar in it. It's Dannon Light & Fit Carb & Sugar Control. I got the vanilla flavor and it was good. The web site will help you find where they sell it in your area.

I have tolerated 2 ounces of low sodium V8, the Dannon Light & Fit carb and sugar control, and strained cream of chicken Soup. 2 ounces is so little! lol I try to savor each little bit. I have noticed that my stomach doesn't seem to like room temperature Water so I was worried about the strained cream Soup. But no problems with it being warm.

My nutritionist said no fruity yogurts. I used Yoplait Greek 100 vanilla. It had more carbs than I wanted but I did fine with it. I was on serious antibiotics during week 2 so I had to have yogurt to attempt to prevent a yeast infection. I started very slowly and worked my way up to 2 TBSP at a time.

I'm day 20 and struggling with getting in enough fluids. I was never a big drinker. In fact I really only drank diet coke. So it's a struggle. Things must be very cold or I just can't stand it.

Diet cokes were my drug of choice and I couldn't imagine living without it. But so far I have not missed them as much as real food. What - if anything - are you missing from our former lives?

I would love a cube of good nutty white cheddar to suck on or some brussel sprouts. I cannot wait til I can have more than broth I have been really wanting some butternut squash or broccoli Soup. It has been a month since I was allowed fruit I would love a peach or apple too.

I just have to add that I just discovered Trader Joes creamy Soups (the ones in the boxes that look like broth boxes)

They make three, two of which have low sodium options.

  • Creamy Corn and Roasted Pepper Soup
  • Tomato and Roasted Red Bell Pepper Soup
  • Latin-style black bean Soup.< /li>

So far, I'm in love with all three of them and can highly recommend them once you can get to that dietary stage, but it's weird eating Tomato Soup but not being able to mush in those little round soup crackers...

Tomatoes! And cheese! And possibly a baked potato with butter and sour cream. I'm not craving meat, I want fruit and vegetables!

Love Trader Joes, i'm going to check out those soups!

I am missing chewing mostly, but other flavors in general. Amazing to say this but anything that isn't chocolate is a treasure right now! lol

When I smell people grilling steaks and chicken outside my brain just has a fit. But luckily it doesn't last long. I just laugh and remind myself that some day I will be able to have most of what I want - in small portions - and will be satisfied. And I will feel awesome.

Are you all getting in your exercise? i have been walking around 20 minutes or so each day. Surgeon wants me to to get my heart rate up to 120 so he suggested I use a machine instead of walking. But I'm able to get my rate up to 120 by fast walking still. I get exhausted quickly ... anyone having that problem. Probably from the low calories and the fact that I just had major surgery. lol

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
