I am almost done with my 2 week pre-op diet and ofcourse right at Easter time. With all of the candy floating around, it has been difficult. Tuesday is my surgery day.

I'm 2 months post-op and I hate to say it, but every holiday/special occasion you experience for the first time after surgery is a test of willpower! There's always some food or candy associated with each one that I get a little bummed I can't have, Like the delicious waste of calories that are Reese's Peanut Butter eggs! Haha! You'll make it through though :)

Congrats on your surgery date!! It's all so worth it!

Well, fortunately there's not a lot of excess celebrating for over 30 days post op. I got banded on 11/28/11 and the 30 days of Holidays + after surgery were very difficult.

L Hartman...Congrats on finishing your pre-op diet and getting yourself ready for the "Day". you will do great. I am so sure that most folks on here have met and faced their holiday challenges...as I have. I did allow myself a few bites of something good for Easter dessert...it was sugar free but was great. I ate a very healthy meal and stayed on track even with my indulgence. so try really hard and remember portions, eating slowly and chew, chew, chew and you'll do just fine. hope to see you on here again soon and will be keeping you in my thoughts for your recovery and your new journey into bandlanderville!!! :)

I am two weeks and 4 days out of surgery. I began solid foods this week. My 2nd weigh in after surgery showed that I didn't lose any more weight. Now that I am back on solids it has been really hard to stick with a diet. I am still in some pain in the port area and also in the area where the tubing for the port is laying. I am taking ibprofen for pain. I am back to work but as usual tend to push to hard too soon. I also need to exercise. People at work have noticed my 30 pound weight loss. It is a nice feeling. I would like to lose more. I just don't seem to have the will power right now. I think the only time I have felt full is when I ate a piece of salmon with 15 grams of Fiber. It was easy on the shake diet. I am really tempted to go back to that for one or two meals a day just to keep the weight loss going. In two weeks I will go back for what will most likely be an adjustment. It just seems I am not getting satisfied very easily. My five incisions are healing nicely. The longest one did itch a bit for a few days. I am really, really, really tired. I take naps as often as a I am able. I hope I get my energy back soon.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
