Was told this week that I was gaunt and had too much neck skin hanging and that is why she knew I had gastric bypass.. What the H*ll?...Now that could be a rant! People say the damndist things don't they?! :( Time to hide in the closet till plastics can fix my ugly ass!!!!!!!!!!!

I was told my face & neck look like Tales of the Crypt and that I needed to gain 30 pounds back.

To hell with them. I'd rather look like it than be dead in a crypt. I got a panni. I'm done with plastics. And done giving a damn about who thinks they have a right to an opinion about my weight or my looks

how rude some people can be! I'd try to think of some snappy comeback but they just don't deserve the energy that would take.RJ just keep on standing out in the sunshine... To hell with them!

I'm wondering if any one has faced judgement for choosing surgery rather than "diet and excersize", as if no one has ever tried that method before choosing surgery... There seems to be a palpable divide between various weight maintenance methods, even amongst those in a gym setting where some love cycling but others love Zumba... just pondering.

In a more related comment, if anyone says anything about sagging skin to me I'll tell them it's my badge of honor cause I took control of my health. On a side note, you could mention to them that you could get plastic surgery but there is no cure for their stupidity!

I have been told several times that I am "too skinny". The same person will then tell me I look great and she is jealous. I try to take the comments as a compliment. The other day I was showing her a project I want to do at my house and was pointing up at the roof. She grabbed the flabby underarm hanging from my arm and said "you should draw a nipple on these and tell everyone you have extra boobs". THAT HURT MY FEELINGS. I will be getting the arm surgery as soon as I can afford it.

She must have said it in a mean spirited way. Or our senses of humor are vastly different. I just think if someone said that to me, I WOULD DO IT. Then lift up my arm and tweak my fake underarm nipple and stare at them, breathing heavily.

@vogue...

my husband I'd totally against me having a lap band placed but he is still supporting MY decision. His beliefs are that we can lose weight the traditional way together, however he's a pure natural when it comes to any exercising regimens. The decision for WLS has been one of my ultimate goals for 2014, and with the support of my husband, children amd mother, I KNOW I will succeed. I've only told two friends of my decision and they are supporting me 100%. Friday is so close but yet so far away. I'm super excited and emotions are all over the place. #nervous #anxious #happy

So after hearing from the most negative person in the world tell me for months and months how she thinks of WLS is the easy way out and how unhealthy it is to do to your body she has the nerve to tell me she tried to get it done and our insurance doesn't cover it at work....mind you we work across from each other everyday at work...Hold me back....are you freaking kidding me??? wow!!!!! Will work twice a hard to lose weight to prove a point now...will take this moment and use it for good...

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
