Any May 2014 sleevers?

Recommended Posts

I had my sleeve done May 5, 2014. Having trouble drinking the Protein Shakes. I've only been able to keep Water in. I'm starving and full of gas. Anyone else have this problem? If so what did you do?

Ok, I was sleeved on the 7th, and I mix my Protein with the almond milk, vanilla! I let them freeze just a lil bit and they are so good! Try that, also to switch up the broth, I ordered the clear broth from the Chinese restaurant! That was yummy as well! I hope gets better for you! I am very gassy, so I understand, I just let it out and keep going! Everyday is getting better, I plan on driving tomorrow, due to going to handle some business!

Sleeved May 2nd in Grinnell, Iowa. I'm doing well! Post op appointment this Wednesday. Walk as much as you can, that helps with gas. Crystal Light helps me get some of my Water in. I also drink sugar free Vitamin water. By day 6-7 I felt better..

Hi May sleevers. I was sleeved May 6 in Portland, OR. Still having so much abdominal cavity gas and pressure from surgery. After every sip I take of Water or Protein Shake I have even more gas bubbles in my stomach. I'm so ready for that all to go away and was hoping it would have by this point. Also still having a good deal of pain and "pulling" around the right side of my stomach when I'm moving, getting out of bed and/or walking. This is not preventing me from doing things but is just painful. Anyone else experiencing these things? Perhaps I just have no pain tolerance and am a worry wart :) congrats to all of you! Excited to do this journey together!!

It will get better! I had the same issues. What helped me was chewable Gas-X and walking. I know, it's horrible, but it is only temporary. I ate/drank standing up r pacing for a few ads and that helped, too! I'm almost 2 weeks post op and feeling soooo much better!

Hang in there!

Im gonna try the Almond milk because the normal Protein Shake is not filling. I cant have Soup until Wednesday. I keep repeating. Only 48 hours. Good news im finally seeing a loss onthe scale.

Ok you sound just like me. I had mine done on May 5 and I still have gas. According to my drs and nurses the right side pain is where they remove everything from. It will be the side to heal the slowest but it gets better. I suggest getting a belly band to hold you in. It's worked wonders for me and I can now sleep on my sides and stomach.

Gas man oh man do I have gas. Sitting with my three year old yesterday she said mommy Angie I think your tummy wants a snack. That too shall pass.

Good luck with everything

May 13! I don't normally participate in public forums, but I feel like I need the support. Good luck to all!

The support is definitely needed, I had my surgery on May 7, and this forum got me through! It taught me about patience, understanding, what to expect, and this is day 2, and everything I have read up on has really helped me! You can private message me, if you have any questions!

Thank you for your reply. I got out of the hospital Wednesday and I've already over did it. Today I've been in pain more than necessary. Drank too much yesterday and today. Need to slow my roll.

Hi I was sleeved on the13th of May ... And honestly I thought it would have been more passive. I know I just went thru surgery but today is Saturday the 17th and I'm still in great pain... For one I have lots of gas pain, I mean lots! And it won't come out. They keep telling me to walk and walk and I do and still nothing. I know surgery is different for everyone but this pain is unbearable! I need help! Is thee anything I can take or movements I can do? Only thing I've take has been some gas x and nothing. I'm kinda getting worried cuz I'm limited to physical things ????

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
