Ok so I am 7 post -Op. I am checking my hair every day for any significant amount of strands and hair, but nothing out of the unusual. When does it usually starts? I've been taking my Multi-Vitamins daily.

I'm three months out and I've never had this issue. I don't think everyone does. I do take Biotin which is found in the Vitamin aisle. It is supposed to help with hair and nails. I can't tell. My nails still break all the time from hand washing at my job.

Hi Ivonne. I noticed you used Dr. Ren. So did I. I've been very happy with her so far and I hope you are as well.

As far as hair loss...for me, it started about three months after surgery and it came out fairly steady but I didn't see a difference until about 6 months out. It was really bad from that point until about four months later. At times, I could see alot of scalp and it was very hard to deal with it. Dr. Ren told me to use the powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury to add another 20 or so grams of Protein to my diet. That upped me to around 60-65 grams daily. I also take Biotin and Iron and Multivitamins. I had major surgery in October and that may be why it was taking so long for the hair to come back but now, 14 months post op, it's grown back fairly nicely. It's still not quite the same but at least I don't have bald spots anymore.

Not everyone has Hair loss but if you are one of the unlucky ones, I can tell you that it will grow back even if it takes a while.

I have lost a lot of hair, but not to the point of seeing my scalp. I started loosing hair about 5 months out. I think it's starting to subside.

I'm about 7.5 months post op, and have only in the last month started noticing a small amount of extra Hair loss. Not enough to even notice the thinning on my head, but enough to notice that more strands are finding their way into my brush. Of course I also battle thyroid problems, so it's hard for me to even venture to guess the exact reason for it.

I started "shedding" at around the 4-5 month mark. I went back on Biotin (which I took pre-band), and it stopped falling out.

My suggestion is, to add 5,000 mg of Biotin to your daily Vitamin regime. Don't wait until your hair starts thinning. Maybe it will, maybe it won't. But biotin won't hurt you, and I believe it will help to avoid any "fallout". I can't comment on regrowth, but when I go through a shedding cycle (hormonally or otherwise), biotin stops it in its tracks.

I am 5 months out and the hair loss started about a month ago. I had thin hair to begin with so every strand counts! My Protein ,Vitamins and Biotin intake are good. What is Injury? I better try it.

It's called unjury. It's a Protein powder supplement. It's I think 21 grams of Protein and 100 calories. I take it daily and between that, the Biotin, and the Vitamins, my hair started coming back and it's pretty good now.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
