I'm new here and 2 weeks post op with the lap band and was wondering what to expect at my appointment with the surgeon?

I had my surgery Jan. 29th and had my follow-up a week after surgery. I saw the surgeon for about 5 minutes. He looked at my incisions, asked how I was feeling, and reviewed what things I needed to do to have this be successful and would see in a few weeks for my first fill.

I am sure it is different for every surgeon, but nothing to fret about.Write questions down if you have any.

Welcome to the site and congrats on getting banded!

Jess

When I had my first appointment, the doctor looked at my incisions, weighed me and asked me how I was feeling. Just a quick doctor appointment - no big deal :)

My experience was similar. The doctor checked my incisions to make sure I was healing. He asked a few questions about how I was feeling, gave me some physical restrictions and said I could move on to solid food - mushies. I was just so excited to be able to have something other than a Protein shake that I forgot my list of questions that I wanted to ask.

If you have any questions for the doctor, write them down and bring them with you so you won't forget. For my second appointment, I put them on the appointment page on the calendar of my phone. (I never forget my phone)

Good luck!!

I am about 2 years out; my follow-up appointment was similar to the above posts.

Lap band doctor walked in; looked at my decision and walked out. . . . took a total of 5 minutes.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
