Uh-Oh.....Nerves are starting to kick in a little

All of a sudden it hit me right smack in the forehead that I am having this surgery tomorrow. And for the very first time, I am scared. Up until right this minute, I was confident in my decision, and excited about it. WTH happened to me? So I ran to my computer and posted this. Hoping for some friends to make me less scared. What if something goes wrong? What if What if What if? Is this normal? I have scared myself silly! I think I might throw up!

I'm so happy to see this thread. I've been seeing this doc and that doc - having this procedure and those tests - for several months and have been excited the entire time. Now I'm 15 days out and I

Oops! Who put the send button so close to my iPad keyboard?! LOL

Anyway, now I'm getting nervous and having a hard time sleeping. I know it's normal, so I'm letting it happen. This is NOT the time to second-guess myself. I'm so happy to hear all your stories. It's been motivational and calming. Thank you to all who've shared their experiences.

I have surgery on wed 2-26 and the nerves are already setting in and ive been a crying emotional mess. I had open heart surgery 2 yrs ago and more scared, nervous than anything.

I am just a few hours away. Nervous, but not overly so. I plan on staying awake all night since I have to leave at 4 in the morning to arrive at the center at 5am (6am Eastern). I'll sleep when they anesthetize me...lol! All evening I have been thinking about a Sonic chicken sandwich on a Ciabatta bun...stoopid commercials!

I am so happy that this is finally about to take place. Good luck to everyone undergoing this procedure...may we wake up skinnier and healthier!!!!

I had my surgery today and I doing very well tonight. I hope tomorrow is the same because I'm a little uncomfortable but only in pain when I cough. I would love hear how others are during.

It's totally normal. I went through it too. It will all be alright. Mine went off without a hitch and I had an easy recovery. You got this, calm down, breathe, and remember why you are doing this. A new you! Good luck!

Hope all is going well now. It is a very brave decision to make!

Hang in there! This totally works, you just have to give it time.

Well I got sleeved yesterday. And other than the pain it isn't so bad. I just wasn't 'to prepared for it to hurt so much. But it is bearable.

Sometimes you have to do something you've never done before to get to where you want to be. It's definitely scary and I'm sure most of us are/were terrified at that last moment before the operation. Just remember why you are doing it and maintain your focus. You will wake up and your new life will begin. Something you've been wishing for for a long time is about to come true. Be proud of your journey and stay focused. Celebrate!!!! You'll be fine:)

Glad you came through OK!

When I was still quite groggy my family was present and one of them asked me how I was doing. I said in a drug stupor," Miserable! ...but happy!"

They still kid me about that.
