Wow, so I didn't know that this site made other improvements besides their name!

I like this better, now I can go read forums about other procedures. I originally had the LapBand. Had to have it removed due to infection. Gained all of what I lost (47 pounds). Trying to lose it on my own and it's such a struggle. If I don't lose at least 20 pounds by the end of may, I think my decision would be to get the gastric sleeve, a handful of people one here suggested it. I'd be so scared of them taking half of my stomach out, having it stapled and then losing the weight too fast and ending up with lose skin :/ don't want lose skin and don't want plastic surgery. Jumping ahead of myself here... Anyways, now I can get more info, yay!

Whether you lose the weight fast or slow the loose skin will either tighten up or it won't over the long haul. It has to do with genetics and age more than anything else.

I am now 65 and over 2 years out, lost 130 pounds and my skin is still slowly tightening.

I expect it will not tighten completely thus making my midsection look like a cut-out from a romance novel cover.

The alternative in my case would be very wrinkly skin in my casket 6 feet under.

Either way all surgery is scary, I feel like my family doesn't really want to support my decision if I end up getting the surgery. They say they've supported me all along but I told them It doesn't feel like it. But idk ill look more into this and try my best

When the right procedure for you comes along you will just know! Do as much research on all options & when the time is right again you will not have to second guess yourself one bit & will know in your heart which surgery is best for you!

As far as not feeling as though your family ia supporting you through your process just keep reminding yourself that you are doing this for you, for a happier, healthier life not for them & you can pray that they come to their senses & support your choices but if they don't always know you have a great support system on here! I wish you the very best with whichever direction you choose to go in!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
