How long did you wait for plastics?

Recommended Posts

I am three months out. I am really noticing the sag in my breasts and belly. I have lost 78 pounds since I started this journey last July. I still have a long way to go but I want to know what the plastic surgeon will be able to do for me and what I have left to do on my own. I am sure it will be a least another year before I do any surgery. I am just looking for information from the doctor now. My appointment is tomorrow.

My doctor told me to wait at least a year (preferably two) after reaching goal before considering plastic surgery.

You definitely want to make sure you will be able to maintain the loss before removing skin!

Bronco0605 - I hope you get more replies on your post. I am at about the same total weight loss as you. I also have been surprised by the extent of my sagging skin. I am only half way to my goal so I suspect the sag will continue. At a follow up appointment with my surgeon I mentioned my concern about "my deflated balloons" and asked if there was anything I could do to help it. He said "save your money for plastic surgery". I was disappointed by his answer but think he may be right. You look young in your photo. I am am in my fifties. It seems to me that younger skin tends to have better "snap" to it. Good luck and congrats on your success.

....until I can afford it with cash. Seriously, that day may not come. :) I have done the consult already @ 18 months. I need/want to do a lower body lift and a TT for vanity reasons. No medical need and I still look good without it, just not awesome because a lack of ab definition. 180 # loss and 17-18 bf % from good diet and working out. However, there is skin around the stomach region (not hanging) and upper thighs that is hiding the definition.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
