Hey!!! I had the gastric bypass on April 1st, 2013. I’m almost at my one year mark. :D And my question is what is everyone doing about food? I’m kind of getting bored. I find myself having to remind myself to eat because I don’t get that hungry feeling. :o I tend to crave a lot of red meat. I was told it’s because my Iron levels are kind of low. I don’t give into it every often. Sometimes I’ll eat part of a sirloin steak. But that’s like maybe once a month if that. If I had to choose to eat anything it would just be meat. chicken, Fish, Steak, Ham, Turkey, I’d definitely get my Protein in no problem. :P Lol I’ve increased my leafy green intake to help with my meat cravings.

Breakfast Options: oatmeal, Boiled Egg, banana, Scrambled Egg, Belvita Crackers, Boost Calorie Smart

lunch Options: Salad(Romaine, Spinach, tomatoes, Cucumbers, Carrots), Peanut Butter and Crackers, Boost Calorie Smart, tuna and Crackers, Tuna and Pita bread, Turkey and cheese Pita Sandwich with Romaine Lettuce, Boiled Egg

dinner Options: Soup, Salad(Romaine, Spinach, tomatoes, cucumbers, Carrots), Red Yams, Brussels Sprouts, Baked Chicken, Sweet Potato Baked Fries, Sautéed Chicken with onions

Snacks Options: Peanut Butter, Carrots, Celery, Plums, Grapes, Clementine’s, Cherries, Nuts, Yogurt

I calculate my Protein and Calorie intake and I spread out my Vitamins throughout the day. I don’t think my meal options are bad. I’m just getting bored with it. I do substitute things here and there. Right now I’m on a chicken kick. I do eat Salmon sometimes. It’s just getting bored  …maybe I’m over thinking it  . I like planning out my meals for the week. It just makes it easier for me less prep time and less thinking especially if I’m busy. And it helps me because sometimes I just get overwhelmed maybe even repulsed by food that I just don’t want to eat which in that case I’ll just have a Protein shake. So I definitely am getting my nutrients…Is anyone else having eating issues…? What do you like to eat? Breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack. Any suggestions?

My favorite fast lunch or dinner is 5 large shrimp w/a little cocktail sauce (maybe a tbsp). I cut the shrimp into little bite-size prices then toss in the cocktail sauce to coat each piece. Yummy!

A little grocery store near my work sells 'shrimp cocktail for one' at their fish counter. It has 5 shrimp and cocktail sauce - perfect to grab and go. :-)

Hi, my surgery was April 2nd, 2013. Sound like you have a great variety of foods that you choose from. I have found myself eating turkey burgers more frequently lately. I may have a slice of cheddar cheese with it. Great Protein and NO carbs. It's awesome! I also eat alot of salad. I have at least 1 or 2 greek yogurts a day. If I feel I have overdone it or just not in the mood to eat, I may just have a Protein shake. For a while, I felt I was eating too much, so I have started to log my food again and am doing great at it and the scale is moving now instead of staying on the same number week after week.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
