I forgot gas strips and I wish so badly that I had them with me. Gas makes more pain for sure.

I'm on the 25th and feeling schizo! It's a roller coaster every day. I go from euphoria to tears. My poor husband.

I'm taking three weeks off. My job is sedentary, but extremely stressful.

Loveit2012 you are going to do great!! It's totally normal to feel how you feel so close to surgery date! When I was sleeved five months ago I was an anxious wreck! Lol. When it was all said and done with I said to myself 'I worked myself all up for that!'. You made a great choice! Best wishes for a speedy recovery for you! :-)

So, I was getting nervous and upset because I'm 8 days into the liquid diet and haven't seen any change on my scale. The only "cheating" I've done is have a few wheat crackers when I was feeling very edgy. I emailed the nutritionist at the surgeon's office and here is her reply:

You’re doing fine!! The goal of the pre op diet is not to lose weight, but to shrink the liver. Don’t worry about your weight. Following the plan as presented is the goal. Beware of forums because every bariatric practice has their own guidelines and protocols.

Don’t hesitate to call or email if you have questions. Have a good weekend!

Beth Flynn, RD, LD

This made me feel much better!!

Hey if you could lose weight that way you wouldn't need surgery right? :)

Some people bodies go into starvation mode, I wouldn't worry.

Your doing great Betsy! Your nutritionist is right, your doing great and purpose is to shrink the liver. The more you follow it the less discomfort you are to have on the left side after surgery. Keep up the good work! Doing great! Look forward to updates after your surgery :-)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
