Recommended Posts

I guess you all do not understand.. It is the power of the SUB CONSCENCE ....you are sleeping and you do not hear the music.. but it is your music.. so it is comforting you in some way... it keeps you calm...and the way you go under is the way you come out.. I did say "I do not have a husband" to greet me when I come out, he has Alzheimer's and will be at home with my older Son.....Wish you all well....JewelJ

Sorry. I certainly didn't mean to offend. Whatever works for you. I know there are plenty of people who go to Mexico and do it alone.

So sorry to hear about your husband JewelJ, it must be very hard on you and your children.

You seem to have picked an amazing compassionate surgeon, you are blessed.

I wish you and yours all the best and I will be thinking of you next week...

The longest part of my surgery day was when they wheeled me into the staging room - I was the first patient of the day. I in there all by myself. There was a TV and I watched it a little, but not much. My patient coordinator sat down with me for a little bit. I actually took a little nap - the drugs must have caught up to me at that point. I remember them wheeling me into the OR and starting to get strapped in when a voice above me said, "Breath deep and count to 3" I remember counting to one. The next thing I knew I was awake and in a different room. I asked the nurse if he was done operating and she said "yes". I asked if she was sure - she offered to show me the incisions, but I declined.

Totally normal zoumommy. I was super excited and knew I wanted this surgery....even started my preop diet 2 days early! Then 2 days before surgery I pretty much had an anxiety attack over my decision. Shaking, crying, could hardly breath. Then literally sitting on my hospital bed with an IV catheter in my arm just 1/2 hour before surgery I had doubts again. My sister volunteered to sneak me out of there if I wasn't absolutely sure. But in the end I knew this was the best decision and at 6 weeks out I have no regrets.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
