Hi folks, looking for other folks scheduled for March...anyone?

How are you preparing for surgery? What protein sources are you planning to use?

I'm here. 3.5 days for me! Nervous and excited!

Have anyone tried EAS AdvantEdge from Wal-Mart?

Yes that's pretty much what I drank pre and no post op. I like the chocolate best, they sell they big cases at BJS wholesale if there is one near you and at target also, Think there's choc, van and strawberry...

It's good. I like the dark chocolate. One of the better ones in my opinion.

So, surgery is Tuesday. I'm nervous. I've been on a very low cal diet.. mainly liquid for two weeks. I have a fear my liver won't be smaller? Or that they won't be able to do band to sleeve in one surgery. Why am I constantly worried?

I'm constantly worried too. Plus, I'm an RN so I have all kinds of crazy thoughts running through my head! It will be fine!

I wss fine with the band. All these heparin shots are terrifying me. (Wimp) I am dreading leaving my baby, but I have to get it done before he starts crawling, which is like weeks away. I am looking forward to a thin me!

Starting to feel real March 19th here I come :). So excited bags are packed for me and the kids, I took their bags to their nanas and they are excited and I am sad I am going to miss their sweet faces, I plan to Skype them daily so it want be to bad. Ready to be on the other side. I took the kids to the local festival and I have to say I am proud of the will power I had to avoid all them good smelling fatty foods, have not failed my Pre op diet yet and only 2days to go. Working toward a better me!

Hi guys I am 11 days post-op and I feel about 99% as far as soreness. It's pretty much gone. Haven't been getting my protein in but plenty of water. I am definitely more tired and little things such as a shower takes a lot out of me. Hoping this passes soon. But otherwise I am just sooo happy I did this for myself. I was 308 the day of surgery 11 days ago and I am down to 287 as of this morning. 21 lbs how the heck?? But I'm just happily going along with it! My first post-op appt with my surgeon is on Tuesday. Then I get to start puréed woohoo! Just miss the feeling of "eating" sometimes.

Did anyone get an incentive spirometer to prevent pneumonia? Our nurse said we are supposed to do it ten times an hour for two weeks! I think that's kind if crazy.

I was given one and told to do the same. I never used it... :x

Im starting to have cold feet:(. I know this is something i want. Im just scared that i will lose more than i want to because my goal weight i will feel comfortable at is like 200. I dont want to be skinny. I just want to be healthy and i want to keep meat on my bones. But i am going through with this in 3 more days because to get to goal of 200 i need to lose 109 lbs

Don't go through with it with doubts, because this is irreversible. The last thing you want is to have regrets. But to stop losing is as simple as eating more calories. Just think of all the positive reasons you want this surgery and go with your gut. Surgeries can always be postponed if you need more time. Good luck

For everyone who is worrying: I'm afraid it doesn't go away until you wake up in recovery lol. I was so relieved when I woke up to "wake up hun your surgery went great". I've never once worried about a leak. I was only afraid of blood clots, so I am still getting up and walking often to this day. Truth is, worrying doesn't help anything and only made my blood pressure and heart rate go up before I went into the OR, which I would've rather not had. Just relax, everything will be fine :)

Kb88 thanks for the advice but i dont need to postpone. Ivebeen in this process for 9 months now and i couldnt be anymore excited!!. I guess just in the back of my mind i worry like everyone else. It is major surgery and a major life change but im in it for the long haul!thanks.. Like 33 hours or so till surgery!! Im elated

. I almost backed out, I think it is natural to second guess, but this journey started over a year ago for me. We should be scared, this is Major surgery. I'm doing everything exactly as instructed. No deviations, no experimenting. Good Luck!
