Who had the most to say? the most negative reaction when they heard of the surgery? who didn't think you could do it?

Who do you wish could have seen your success and why?

I wish my parents were still alive to see this (and for many other reasons, of course)... my Mom would be SO happy at my current state of being...

Other than that...I'm good... my hubby loved me when I was at my highest (actually about the time we met) and loves me now...I can almost fit into his clothes now....

I keep telling him "what's mine, is mine; what's yours, is mine" ... now I'll be into his clothes.... (hello, boyfriend jacket)

I look forward to the day when I can impress someone with my weight loss. Where I live now I have no friends or family other than my hubby and son. I don't work because I am a caregiver to my husband who is a cancer patient.

Soon we will be moving back home where I will have my sisters and friends and I cannot wait. I have not gone anywhere other than hospitals and doctors appointments in 2 years. GAH!?!?!?

Sorry to hear about your husband, Magtart; but glad you took time for YOU! I know the feeling, my hubby and I live in Savannah and most of my family is in Chicago... I miss them... I saw one sister a few months back and she almost didn't recognize me... except that I am beginning to look more and more like my Mom every day!!! LOL...(she was thin-er)

Sorry to here about your husband. My parents would be so happy to see me loosing weight they both worried about me , I have some cousins who have been hurtful over the years can't wait until the 2weekend in june for our family reunion. I went to see my Nuerologist for the first time this year and he didn't reconize me made me feel good.

My rheumatologist, who I have been seeing for 10 years walked straight past me, no flicker of recognition, lol.

Someone I worked with for 7 years but hadn't seen for 7 years looked blankly at me until I spoke.

My mother in law didn't recognise me until I stood in front of her in a store when I went to collect her.

I didn't tell many people in advance so didn't have to put up with negative comments. It's only happened a couple of times recently with a couple of friends telling me I shouldn't lose any more weight. Best reason for their "concern"? I might look too old. Lol!!!!!!! You couldn't make it up...

I want my kids and my family to see the weight going.... They're really a big encouragement.. The most negative was a guy that I'd been dating for about a year... But this isn't about or for him... So I let go and did what was best for me. And I'm LOVING IT

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
