This may be a silly question, but can I just drain cans of chicken noodle Soup for my chicken broth. Actual chicken broth out of a can is almost tastless, Whereas the juice from chicken noodle soup tastes pretty good. Wanted to know before I did it, don't want to be cheating

Lots of people get the lower sodium options and do that with it

I simmered chicken broth out of the carton with dried rosemary and thyme and added a smidge of Better than Bouillon. It is delish!

Liptons noodle Soup is really good too.. just remove all the noodles. Plus one package can make like 8 cups

I have used for pre-op and also post operatively, Premier Protein, which gives 30 grams of Protein and only 1 gram of sugar in an 11 ounce container with a nice screw top in case I can't finish the whole thing at one time. I buy it by the case at my local Sams Club and pay $18.98 for a dozen. Price has only gone up 10 cents in the last year. Comes in vanilla or chocolate. I use the chocolate mostly but have used the vanilla for fruit shakes or just plain for a change. Two Protein drinks a day plus my new eating habits and my sleeve surgery has me feeling successful. When I decided to do the surgery I was 283. ( My normal weight was 150) but certain circumstances left me a cripple for over 10 years so I gained weight no matter what I ate. After hearing about the sleeve option, I was 276 the first time I saw the doctor and now I am 211. I probably could have lost more but had my sleeve in March 2013 and then a total hip replacement in August 2013 and that slowed my progress. After 3 days in the hospital for my hip, I then went to rehab for 37 days post surgery, so in the rehab it was nearly impossible to stick very closely to the food I needed because the kitchen either didn't cook what I needed or didn't have what I needed. Thank goodness my friend was bringing me this protein so I could stick with that regimen. These little shakes are great when you want chocolate or feel any hunger. I put them in my NutriBullet, add PB2 I buy on Amazon (I get the large bag that is shrink wrapped) and 2 ice cubes and it's very satisfying. Try this, it's a great option.

Depends on your doctor and nutritionist I suppose. Mine is very strict. They don't want me taking any Soups and draining them, because they say some of the other ingredients bleed out.

What I use is chicken bouillon from Goya. Don't know if you have that brand but it tastes pretty good.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
