When do you start losing weight?

Recommended Posts

Hi! I had me sleeve surgery on the 2nd and am VERY disguraged. I had lost 12lbs during my fasting the week before it. I had a minor complication and was on IV fuilds for 2 days longer than I should have. I came home 20lbs heavier than when I went in. I have lost 98% of the Water weight but thats it. My measurements have not changed much. I have been doing everything I am suppose to be doing. So, when will I actually start losing weight?

Try to stay off the scale for a bit if you can.

I lost 10 lbs in the 2 weeks before surgery but know I gained it all back & more from the gas and IV's in the hospital.

I could barely button the shirt that I wore in to the hospital when I left.

I only stayed 1 night.

I waited til my 2 week follow up appointment at the Dr's office to weigh in and saw a loss then.

After that I only weighed in once a week for at least 4 months.

Good luck on your journey!

It's true all those fluids balloon you up. Also, it's normal to lose the first week and stall around the 2nd & 3rd week as your body adjusts.

My surgeon told me to stay off the scale for a bit, because of the fluids and gas they pump you up with. No worries...it will happen for you soon.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
